On-Screen Keyboard when using Microsoft Edge for Xbox

Hello! I have been using the Microsoft Edge app on my Xbox Series X and everything is easy to use and smooth except for one major inconvenience. I use a USB mouse and keyboard to do some basic tasks such as slideshows and documents, but anytime I click anything on a document or slide (furthermore any spot you could put a text input) the large, annoying, and often in the way keyboard pops up. This single issue makes using Edge with a keyboard and mouse on the Xbox difficult. I have scoured the internet trying to find a way to stop the popup on display keyboard used for controller users to no avail. There is an old post on here that had an answer related to a Windows 10 app but no such thing exists on the Xbox. Any help to stop the keyboard from showing up when using Edge would be greatly appreciated!

I meant that when u type using keyboard on xbox edge browser a pop on screen keyboard also appears which blocks the screen i was asking if their was a way to remove that pop up keyboard when using a keyboard

Thanks, here are the questions:

Can I disable the on-screen keyboard when typing in Microsoft Edge or on Xbox in general? I use a keyboard and don't need the pop-up one for the controller.

Is there a way to stop other tabs from being discarded in Microsoft Edge on Xbox? It says when I hover over the tab: "this tab was discarded to save resources". Is there an option to cost resources in order to keep multiple tabs open?

Would I be able to navigate the Xbox home screen, Microsoft store, or other apps with a mouse cursor, or is it only done with the keyboard arrows or controller?

Hello Phoenix, unfortunately there is no procedure for the keyboard not to appear this way, it was implemented a few updates ago by Microsoft.

What you can do is leave a suggestion on the old Uservoice that now works on the Insider site by Reddit.

I use Microsoft edge on Xbox quite a bit and would like to be able to turn off the on-screen keyboard when typing. I use a mouse and keyboard, so I don't

need the on-screen one. As of right now, I can't find a way to turn it off, I just see an option to change the size of the on-screen keyboard, but not turn it off.

I do have the latest Xbox and Edge version.

The features provided are different based on which app you’re using. If you launch the Edge browser, you’ll see a bar with “Microsoft Edge” at the bottom of the screen. You can then tap the remote icon at the bottom-right corner of the screen and you’ll
get an interface that provides buttons for swiping and tapping to control the app, as well as an on-smartphone keyboard when you select a text field.
