Old Xbox One slow and sluggish (completely unresponsive)

Hi, so I have an old Xbox One (about 7 years old) and about 6 months ago it became extremely slow and sluggish, now it is almost completely unresponsive, as in no games open, no apps open, the dashboard Bareilly works, and it was having problems even just starting (which I fixed, the ribbon cable somehow got loose in the front). It is so slow that I can't even factory/hard reset it because it is so slow. And yes, I did try to use the trouble shoot menu too, but that is also completely unresponsive. If you are wondering why I had not tried to fix it sooner, it is because I have 1 other Xbox one that I have been using in replace of this one. Is there anything I can do to try to fix the Xbox?

Oh, that makes sense. I can't believe I didn't think about that. Is the inside of the Xbox like a computer? If so, I might be able to apply new thermal paste myself. The only issue is that I don't know a good brand for thermal paste. Do you know one? And for dust and dirt, I have a blow dryer. If it is not similar to the inside of a computer, yes I will go find a technician to try to fix it.

I can assure you with certainty that there are many videos on the internet that show the process of opening, cleaning and etc, with some research gets a good thermal paste, but if you do not have the necessary tools the ideal would be to send even for assistance.

Hello J20987, by its description and by the time it has the console can be dirt inside the console, this can cause the dryness of the thermal paste of the processor and with this it does not cool properly.

This model as it was discontinued there is no longer repair service paid for by Microsoft, the ideal would be to send it to a technical assistance.

Hmmm that's definitely strange. It could be just a problem with the OS, like you said.

I would personally try a factory reset of my console to restore the console back to its original settings completely. (This will wipe all local storage and profiles from the Xbox, including games).

I'm not saying that this will 100% work, but it's definitely something I would want to try before potentially sending it back for repairs.

We were having same issue with sluggish, slow and unresponsive. After contacting microsoft, doing a factory reset, soft and hard reboot nothing worked. THEN. I located two major issues that no one has addressed at all. Microsoft wanted to charge me
115 to solve issue. Wtf! I feel they should have been informed of issue during testing or even within first year of release.

Solution. ONLY FOR SLOW, UNRESPONSIVE AND SLUGGISH!

STEP 1: FACTORY RESET

STEP 2: DELETE MAC ADDRESS!!!!. this is under your network settings. You don't need mac address and causes unresposiveness.

STEP 3: UNDER BLU RAY AND VIDEO. YOU WILL FIND A FIL UNRELATED TO BLU RAY. THINK ITS A TEMP FILE. WHY THEY WOULD STORE HERE IS UNKNOWN TO ME. IT'S A PARTITION TO BACK UP RECENT CACHE. THIS IS ONLY WAY TO DUMP TEMP FILES. GO IN TO FOLDER AND DELETE
ALL INFO.

STEP 4: HART RESET FOR 30 MINUTES. IT HAS TO BE 30 MINUTES SO THAT THE SYSTEMS BATTERY BANKS POWERADE DOWN AND RESET INTERNALY.
