Old Xbox 360 shows flashing RROD and shuts off after about 8 seconds

My Xbox 360 is pretty old and I fleshly wiped it down with alchohol wipes just to see a big flashing red ring, it wasn't the 1 2 3 or 4 individual rings, it was a big flashing red thing that just SCREAMED, "Hello there, I'm your worst nightmare." I need some help with this if anyone might know what to do, it shuts off every time and doesn't even display the screen, so I can't factory reset it. Thank you!

That is a hardware issue and the console will need to be repaired.

Since it isn't under warranty anymore I'll suggest you take it to a local departmental store so their repair department can fix it for you and you can take it home the same day.

Sorry you're having issues with your pins. Try doing a hard reset. To do this with the console on, hold the power button for about 8 seconds until it shuts off. After it's off turn it back on.

Could've been a fluke or it could mean your Xbox 360 is breaking down.

If it doesn't happen again you're fine, and the only way to know is to keep playing.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your achievements not showing. If you haven't tried already please give a power cycle a try by holding the Xbox button down for 8-10 seconds until your Xbox One powers off. Once it's shut off wait about 30 seconds
and power it back on and give it another try.

Hey General! Let me ask, about how long have you waited before doing a hard shut down? I did notice after the last update that there was an extended period of time before the console fully powered off. After the console first came out this was a considerable
issue, where the light would flash for 30 seconds to as much as a few minutes before powering down. They resolved that after a few updates, but it seems to be back - just not for quite as long.

As an example, it did it to me the other night, I watched for about 30 seconds, still flashing, I went to the kitchen & fixed a drink, came back and it was off. Couple minutes at most.

Try shutting down and waiting to see how long it takes before it stops flashing, and let us know!
