    Ok guys I have an old xbox 360 slim with a broken hitachi drive. If I swap in another drive I know I will get banned online. Will that affect the console or the account because I don't want to lose my account on my new xbox console. I just want to have the old one still usable as more of a toy. I really don't know how these bans work.

    Thanks in advance and I hope the question doesn't sound too stupid but I really don't know how these things work. Would be nice to get that 360 online but Hitachi drives are not as common as Lite-on.

    It would be up to the enforcement team but it could be either just a console ban or both the account and console.

    Holy [mod removed] so if I want to fix that I somehow have to forever be careful to never get it online? I know you can swap the board in the drives but I have no idea if Hitachi boards are compatible to Liteon.... kinda sad ,I just wanted to keep the old fellow around.

    My Xbox 360 device is not permanently banned, I can still access the internet and Xbox live with my second account on the console, so that’s not my issue. My issue is that I cannot add/download my old, very first Xbox live profile/account to my Xbox 360 because the ACCOUNT is permanently banned, not the console. And again, this is not a password issue. I still have full access to the associated Microsoft account and still use it very frequently, I just want to be able to download my profile and access my old game saves OFFLINE, but I can’t because it stops the profile from downloading because it’s banned
