Old Microsoft account needs to be merged with new one

I really hope someone can help me here as I have invested too many hours trying to find a solution to this issue. I'll try to keep is as short as I can:

Back in the 20norties I got an Xbox360 and created a Microsoft account. In doing that I created my Gamertag. I used *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** for that.

Fast forward to 2017 when my children were getting to an age where they needed family settings, plus we got other Microsoft products, I created a Microsoft account using *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***.

On the *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** account we have everything set up and subscriptions etc., however, on the Xbox One (we upgraded) we have profiles (and therefore gamertags) set up as *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***, *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***, *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***
and... here's the problem... my old *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** (linked with my gamertag).

I logged into my Hotmail (old) Microsoft account with a view to adding the gmail (new) email address then deleting the Hotmail (old) one. However, it will not accept the new email as it says that it's already taken... which it is... by me!

This is an issue as I would like my Gamertag moved over to the Gmail account along with the Gold subscription and then bin off the old one. Having the Hotmail on the xbox and the gmail on the account is messing with the functionality of the family settings.

I cant wait for your response and getting this finally sorted once and for all.

Hi Alistair234567,

As far as I am aware you can not merge two accounts together. It is hard to say if such a feature will ever exist however you could put the suggestion forward via the Xbox
Insiders Reddit page.

That's frustrating and maybe something to keep the Microsoft developers busy.

As of this time you can not combine Microsoft accounts

It's not possible to merge accounts and nothing can be transferred between accounts. You would either need to sign into your old one and continue using it instead of the new one or vice versa.

It's best to create a new thread for yourself instead of bumping an old one. It is not possible to merge accounts. You would need to join Live with your offline account in order to keep your achievements.
