    Hello, I spoke with an online agent who directed me to the forum to try to seek help. Some years ago I changed my gamertag because myself and a terminally ill friend of mine were trying to make matching names. As soon as I did a
    name change, I immediately tried to start a secondary account so I could keep my name so I could change it back at a later date. When I tried to make the 2nd account, it said the name was unavailable. I called and spoke with support and the gentleman I spoke
    with said that my name was locked for 5 years.

    I was trying to see what options I may have to get my previous gamertag back since it has been about 4 years now. The online agent checked my old tag and told me all she could see was that it was unavailable, and to make a post to see what options you may
    have for me. My old gamertag was BOB KELSO. I believe the O in Kelso was a zero, but it also could have been the O in Bob. Either way, there was one zero. I don't know if you have the ability to check my old gamertag name to make sure what it was. But I would
    like to get my old tag back, since it should still be "locked" according to the agent I spoke with years ago.

    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Yeah, this is just in case you wanted one of the old gamertags...really shouldn't give free gamertag changes because they are recycling gamertags lol

    Gamer profile issue

    Problem solved created a new sdult profile and linked it old gamertag. Then changed settings and now can play online!

    If the system shows it's taken when you try to use it, then there's nothing else you can do. There are a couple of similar tags to that on the service so if one of those is the one you had, then someone else already took it. You'd either have to just wait
    to see if it gets freed up or if someone else owns it, if they change it to something else.

    On a serious note there's a GT I used a couple years ago that I would like to have back but I'm pretty sure someone snatched it if it ever became available again because it's been inactive for over 3 years and I still can't change my GT to it.
