Old Email On Current Xbox Live Gamer tag! How to update email to newer GamerTAG!

This is the only thing that I can see that would work for you.

First though the Unused email you say is tied to Xbox live Is there games that were purchased that are attached to this account?

Remember this purchases of games and subscriptions go with the accounts themselves and can not be transferred over.

Since the used email is a Microsoft server email if you add a new email to the account and make the new email the primary email if you were to remove that Hotmail email from the account you would LOSE it FOREVER and never be able to get it back.

So IF you are wanting to put the Gamertag from the unused account and put it onto the old used account. You would need to do the following steps.

Keep in mind also that with the new gamertag system there is a limit of 12 characters for the gamer tags so if your gamertag that you are wanting to move over is greater than 12 characters this will not work.

To make things easier we will go with this legend:

Account A = Hotmail account that you currently use.

Account B = account that has the Gamer tag that you want on Account A

1. Change the Gamer tag for Account B (if you were given a generic gamertag when you originally setup the change would not cost you anything. their would be a 9.99 charge to change the gamer tag if you ever used your free change or chose your own gamertag
when you set up the account) This goes for both accounts. This will then free up that gamertag to be able to be put onto another account. As long as the size of the gamertag is under 12 characters.

2. Then you would just need to sign into Account A and change the gamer tag to the gamertag that you just took off of Account B again there may be a charge to do this. The subscriptions that are on Account B currently would stay with that account until they
run out.

So you can delete your old gamertag/account to free up that email, or you can create a new email account using hotmail, yahoo or even google. (I'm sure there are more out there but making a new email is incredibly easy and you don't even have to use it)

Just curious, Why did you just not change your gamertag on your old account?

before i had my Xbox 360 i used my mates and i stupidly linked a old account to my current email address and my current gamer tag has a email i don't use this means i wont be able to sing up to netflix or crunchy roll with my current email because its not
the same as my current gamer-tags email how do i swap them ? do i just simply delete my old gamer tag and then just re-use my current email or will it not allow me because it was linked to a old gamer tag ?

okay so i have an issue, i think i got a force gamer tag change, but my problem is i no longer have the email that i used with this gamer tag. the email i currently use is linked to my other gamertag and i don't use that gamer tag anymore. how can i change
my current gamertag to my current email without it linking my current email to a older gamer tag? ALSO if you did ban me and give me some really weak , wack gamer tag, how come you are trying to charge me to change my gamer tag? because if that is the case,
this xbox one will be sold for a ps4.
