Old direct X AMD video drivers that only support DirectX 11 work with GAME PASS games but...

I did not find anything useful in my Bios. I was looking for a way to turn off the second 16x PCIe slot. so that's not a problem. You would think something weird would show up in DxDiag but I didn't see anything.

So out of curiosity to see what would happen I moved it back to the other position. That did not undo whatever happened so I still have the issue and that PCI slot is not meant to be the master slot so it causes issues with most games so I moved it back.
I was thinking though. Why is it only the Xbox apps affected? Blender from the Microsoft store works just fine. All my steam and Epic games work fine. I agree it's something in windows that is not seeing my GPU but what? Obviously, it does see my GPU for most things but just not for the Xbox app. Where do you look for the file that would direct the game installed through the Xbox app to use my GPU? It's clearly that one file that needs to be replaced/updated.

I looked around in this for 10 Min but dint find anything related to Minecraft even after I started up the app and it froze. There 3 errors in the past hour.





Do you launch Java edition through the Minecraft Launcher as well, which I assume you've either downloaded from the Microsoft Store App or Mojang?
Yes I do in fact launch Java with Minecraft launcher and you re right it does work just fine.

Sure I can give you those specs, but ya I can run all the latest games including Halo Infinite and Far Cry 6 Halo infite multiplayer starts just fine through steam but the game just hangs when started through the XBox app.

Nope, I do not have an integrated graphics card. BUT My board is an SLI board and this issue started when I had temporarily moved my GPU to the secondary SLI slot to troubleshoot a heat issue. It turns out I needed new fans on my GPU, once I replaced the fans I moved my card back to the primary slot and that's when this issue started. I suspect something in windows is pointing Microsoft apps at my motherboard's empty GPU slot but how do you stop it from doing that? I Didn't mention it before because everyone else that has helped me before just ignored the start point of the issue.

Yes, I reinstalled the Xbox app yesterday and installed Sea of Thieves a game I had played on this PC this past summer. It crashed on start-up and left this error message.

I very much doubt this is exclusive to the Minecraft issue since a lot of other things are affected as well. But I will submit a ticket anyway.

Now there we go! That's great out-of-the-box thinking. The first unique question I've had when dealing with this issue. My PC for some reason is confused and keeps wanting to switch to my daughter's account since I logged into it once on this PC. It never occurred to me that that in any way should be associated with this issue.

I have 5 home PCs all with Microsoft accounts so managing accounts can get tricky at times. But I only made the mistake once of login into another account on my PC.

can you try the following

--Go to settings

--Go to system

--Click on Display

--Scroll until you reach graphic settings

--Click on the dropdown menu and choose universal app

--Choose Minecraft

--Press Add, then Options

--Select High Performance, then save

--Restart Minecraft

I was able to get Roblox working by uninstalling it and DLing it directly from the Roblox site. It's ONLY a GamePass/windows store issue. Roblox was installed through Game Pass when I had the problem. This is NOT an AMD driver issue.
