Old 360 owner wanting to come back

Ah the old "it doesn't bother me so it shouldn't bother you" argument.

The current 360 dashboard is set up to sell you things. Whether that be Coors Light, Honda cars, or Microsoft's own services and products. The dashboard seems to have been designed to sell things rather than make things easy to get to.

The NXE had everything you wanted on a single channel, with no advertisements in sight, though of course if you had a Live connection the dashboard would default to 'Spotlight'.

It's not really the adverts themselves that annoy me. Rather that we've gone from the Blades, to the NXE, to the current Windows 8 style tiles, not for user convenience but rather to make it easier for Microsoft to try and sell us things.

Its not about being forced. Its about having it thrown in your face because they can't actually force you.

But enough about that. I have enough crap in the real world to deal with. Not gonna let it jam up my gaming sesshies.

I don't make up the achievements lists so thats out of my hands.

If a great game has an easy achievement list... meh. If a great game has a fun/challenging achievement list... WOOT!

What I won't do is stain my profile by playing a crap game to completion. Makes no sense.

Anyway got 4 games and no 360 yet lol.

Fable II = Mint + Groovy AC list

Viva Pinata = Mint + Groovy AC list

Deux Ex = Mint + Great AC list

Oblivion = Amazingly mint + Crap AC list

Yeah what I might actually do is get the details to an old account. I bought Bully for £14.99 when it first arrived but should still be on an account if I can get all the details to login. I suppose with a 500GB hard drive, the odd digital game will be ok.
Don't like to make a habit of it though. I just can't click with downloading for days on end (I have poo net).

A couple of reason mate.

1: Good to test the waters as some games can be utter turd after the second level or so. That way I can decide if I want to continue and aim for the completion.

2: Most games have either an excellent single player and crap multiplayer, or great MP but with crap SP. A second account lets you enjoy what you need to, as well as tends to be your pre-own game account if you can't justify paying full whack.

3: Makes achievements/trophies even more interesting. You can create an FPS only account, an MP only account. Loads of ways with no restrictions.

Think I will get the 500GB with FIFA from Grainger for £199.99. Prefer buying new hardware from stores for easy return reasons if need be.

Well I might actually leave Mass Effect for the HD remake when I make the move to the new gens.

Must have pumped around a 1000 hours into the trilogy, if not way more. So I really need a break from it.

Oblivion arrived. 5th year anniversary edition for £13 from Amazon, brand new. Top deal.

Also managed to get Dues Ex: Directors Cut for £4.98 brand new, and when I get home I'm gonna order Viva Pinata for £7 brand new. Love Amazon to bits. New games at super deals. Was gonna wait until next pay day to buy the actual 360, but now I have some
time off at the start of December. Gonna get one then.

Gonna have two accounts again. One for games I want on my 100% completion list, and then one for multiplayer gaming but also no interest in achievements. Kind of a shame its not free to play online like on the PS3 as double accounts are much easier to maintain.

And even though Bully is only £11.99 on the GoD market. On Amazon someone has a mint copy (pre-owned) for £35. Not like me to pay that much for a pre-owned, but the game is amazing and I've started to become a collector this past year.
