Old 360 owner wanting to come back

If replaying old games was my thing, I'd keep the old stuff. It's never been my thing. When the games are new they're great. It's like watching old movies. They're dated. I've seen them before. Just not the same experience I once had.

The only reason I still have my 360 is for the kinect games. It's not even hooked to the internet anymore (doesn't have wifi). The only reason I still have a PS3 plugged in is for the apps and blu-ray player.

 

Well it looks like I might have to wait until next pay day. Way too busy with work when I get back on Monday and have the mission of laying flooring this weekend.

Reason I truly want the 360 back is thus....

1: Oblivion - Amazing game and runs perfectly on the 360.

2: Fallout series - Amazing games and runs perfectly on the 360.

3: I truly loved Fable II. Now I understand they finally did a remake of the original which I never played.

4: That awesome, awesome controller.

5: Older multiplatform games run smoother for the 360.

6: The Xbox seems to be the console for RPG's, where as the PS3 is all about JRPG's.. which I hate.

At first I was really thinking of trading the PS3 towards a 360. But with the amount of games I have for the PS3, I think I will trade that towards either the PS4 or X-ONE when they release the bigger hard drive versions. That will all depend on which console
has the better games and what devs favour, and this time it seems devs favour the PS4.

At the moment though I just want to play Oblivion. Started Dragon Age Ultimate Edition on PS3, but I might trade that towards the 360 version as its truly the complete boxset and requires no net connection to get any of the vital DLC.

As for Mass Effect. If rumours are true, I might actually wait for the remake to hit the new gens. The original is still a great game, but the animation and gunplay border on utter Kee-rap.

All good reasons to get yourself a 360 again(Oblivion,Fallout,Mass Effect etc.)...I love diversity in gaming which is why i recently bought a PS3 and still rock my Wii but the 360 will always be special to me as there have been years of good times and met
a ton of good people.

 

Well I might actually leave Mass Effect for the HD remake when I make the move to the new gens.

Must have pumped around a 1000 hours into the trilogy, if not way more. So I really need a break from it.

Oblivion arrived. 5th year anniversary edition for £13 from Amazon, brand new. Top deal.

Also managed to get Dues Ex: Directors Cut for £4.98 brand new, and when I get home I'm gonna order Viva Pinata for £7 brand new. Love Amazon to bits. New games at super deals. Was gonna wait until next pay day to buy the actual 360, but now I have some
time off at the start of December. Gonna get one then.

Gonna have two accounts again. One for games I want on my 100% completion list, and then one for multiplayer gaming but also no interest in achievements. Kind of a shame its not free to play online like on the PS3 as double accounts are much easier to maintain.

And even though Bully is only £11.99 on the GoD market. On Amazon someone has a mint copy (pre-owned) for £35. Not like me to pay that much for a pre-owned, but the game is amazing and I've started to become a collector this past year.

I picked up oblivion anniversary edition, deus ex and viva pinata from the car boot sale on a sunday morning for £1 each, now thats a bargain.

Still can`t get into oblivion, and i got skyrim too for £1 months ago and won`t start it till i finish oblivion.

I think the digital version of bully is uprated to HD, the disc version isn`t.

The price of that game dropped a lot when the digital version came out.

Will never understand the 100% completion account if you need two accounts to do it, makes it pointless.

 

I know it's not the same as having a nice collector's retail version of a game, but Bully has been in three sales over the past few months for Gold and Silver accounts, along with Rockstar's entire stable, including Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire, MidnightClub,
Max Payne 3...

... around £3 each. Then with season passes the DLC for Max Payne and LA Noire was about £1 each. I think it's safe to assume that sale will be coming around again and again. It's more
potential Rockstar Social Club members for Rockstar after all. =)

Yeah what I might actually do is get the details to an old account. I bought Bully for £14.99 when it first arrived but should still be on an account if I can get all the details to login. I suppose with a 500GB hard drive, the odd digital game will be ok.
Don't like to make a habit of it though. I just can't click with downloading for days on end (I have poo net).

A couple of reason mate.

1: Good to test the waters as some games can be utter turd after the second level or so. That way I can decide if I want to continue and aim for the completion.

2: Most games have either an excellent single player and crap multiplayer, or great MP but with crap SP. A second account lets you enjoy what you need to, as well as tends to be your pre-own game account if you can't justify paying full whack.

3: Makes achievements/trophies even more interesting. You can create an FPS only account, an MP only account. Loads of ways with no restrictions.

Think I will get the 500GB with FIFA from Grainger for £199.99. Prefer buying new hardware from stores for easy return reasons if need be.

 

Yes but where is the sense of accomplishment, if all you do is pick and choose what goes on that account??

Its much more impressive to have a bad, difficult game on your list that took forever to complete, than ones from a bunch of easy top rated games.

 

I don't make up the achievements lists so thats out of my hands.

If a great game has an easy achievement list... meh. If a great game has a fun/challenging achievement list... WOOT!

What I won't do is stain my profile by playing a crap game to completion. Makes no sense.

You were right mate lol. Bully is going for £2.99 on the Black Friday deals. I was fortunate enough to license transfer my old account so I still have Bully. Still so tempted to get it on disc though. Would be awesome for the collection. Cheapest it seems
to go for is £25. Saw 3 copies today in CEX and one in GAME. Wish I could by it brand new from Rockstar Warehouse, but even they don't stock it any more.

I own PS4 and Xbox one, I agree with the above poster. Keep both because your not going to get much for your PS3!

i can't believe adverts bother you that much. there is nothing forcing you to click on them
