Well i got mine as normal, but still have issue with game chat on ghost ????. when i play S/R which has to be game chat, i cant hear or talk to friends. it auto mutes my friends. i use an adapter for my trigger (Tritton) headset. But ive now gone back to
xbox headset that came with the xbox one. So far all works ok. How can i tell if its the adapter or my tritton headset. ?????? As i see it theres no way you can check the adapters ?????.

Same issue with iPhone headset. Audio works great, in party chat, others here high pitch whistle. While less than desirable, it may be that the adapter is not designed to work with inline mic's. Look at the last item in the list below. "Any 3.5mm stereo
headset (that uses the CTIA plug standard) can get stereo game audio by plugging into the adapter"

Problem solved.

i bought the stereo adapter for my xbox one controller and its solved it, if you are using a third party unofficial xbox headset i expect the adapter to solve it, i bought it pre owned from a store called cex less than 20 uk pound.

Strange how it only started recently and was ok until now, i actually prefer having the adapter now as it gives me a lot more control over sounds, game volume and game chat.

The problem is not a microsoft issue its the third party headsets not keeping up with updates.

Xbox one original controller, stereo headset adapter and headset and I can hear in game chat but as soon as I connect to party chat, they can hear me but I cannot hear them. I tried the original headset that comes with the xbox one and it worked so I figured
it was the stereo adapter. so I purchased a new stereo adapter and have the same issue. so I purchased a new controller with 3.5mm jack. I have the same issue. but if I use my headset connected to the 3.5mm jack on the new controller party chat works fine,
but doesn't work connected to stereo adapter (and I tried 2) So I thought I would try on my sons xbox one (we have 2 xbox ones in the house) so we swapped headsets , controllers and stereo adapters and I had the same problem on my xbox one. whereas his was
working fine (and he was using my controller, headset and adapter) So it would seem to be an issue with my console, that is the only hardware difference. any ideas?

As far as I've been able to tell, chat does not work for most 3rd party headsets when using the adapter. The adapter that was, of course, supposed to enable chat for 3rd party headsets. Sigh.
