    OG Xbox wont read certain games but work on 360


    My OG wont read a couple of my games that are in perfect condition. They read fine on the 360 any ideas why it may not be reading on OG hardware? My other games in arguably worst condition load up just fine. so I’m not sure if it’s just a laser issue or not

    One disc, and only one disc, causes my disc drive to make a weird noise.

    If it just that certain disc that it wont read i would recommend replacing it i have had a similar issue in the past and that worked for me

    If you Xbox does not read any games there may be a issue with the laser inside it and you will need to get it repaired

    ^^ This is getting off-topic now, but yes, games DO know if you have a legit HDD or not. This is why you read posts on here of people who say they are getting an error when trying to play OG Xbox games in their 360. They say they bought a HDD for cheap
    on eBay, it says it's an Official Xbox HDD, but in all actuality, it isn't. The Official MS HDD's have data preloaded onto them in order to handle certain functions.

    red faction digital download asks for disc.

    Thats not a permant solution. When you change back game wont boot and says error has accured. Then when gold runs out you wont be able to play it period. With other Og xbox and 360 games with gold you own them and can play them even without gold subscription.
