Offline updates with a usb stick don't work on xbox 360.

I bought a White 3gb slim 360 recently and haven't been able to connect to xbox live at all. Because of this, I need to do an offline update with a usb drive. It would read the update files but fail to install them and I would get error code 43c5 4497 1600 267f c000 0185. I figured my memory unit was **** and went and picked up a official microsoft 250gb add on. It still doesn't work and gives me the same error code. Idk if my console is cooked and I need to get a new one or what. Or is there some way I can make the 250gb add on the primary / default storage device so I can install the update onto it??

Since you've already replaced your storage with an official Microsoft 250GB hard drive and are still seeing the same error, it's likely that the problem isn't with the storage itself. Just to clarify, the offline update using an OSU file via USB is a process designed for Xbox One/Series consoles, unfortunately, this method won't work on an Xbox 360.

If the steps don't work, I am afraid that there might be an issue with your Xbox and I recommend upgrading your Xbox 360 to Xbox One, as Xbox 360 is no longer being maintained by Microsoft.

Hi, you can also try to perform an offline update, for this you need a USB stick and download the update from the XBOX page

The reason it didn't work is because it was trying to get the latest update which you don't need just yet.

From the code you need the 13599 dash update first.

Once you have it do this

1.) Unrar the download (if its rar'ed)

2.) Copy the $SystemUpdate folder to the

root of a CD or USB Stick (The memory

stick must be FAT or Fat32 formatted)

3.) Insert the CD or USB Stick into your

Xbox 360 console.

4.) You will be automatically prompted to

update with a USB stick, with a CD / DVD it

should say Mixed Media Disc, power down

the 360 and power it on again. You should

be ask to update before the 360 boots to

the dashboard.

5.) Once the update is complete your Xbox

360 will restart then boot up to the new

dashboard. Enjoy!

Don't get the newest dash ( 16202) or it won't work you NEED 13599
