    i turned my xbox on and it told me im not connected i followed the steps it told me to do and i still cant get on it also is telling me i need to change something but wont let me because it wont let me online help

    Sorry but this sounds like school yard drama but anyways you don't have to "Appear Offline". You can simply Adjust your Privacy Settings to Friends Only. This way, you can go Online as you please but only your Friends will know.
    If he still follows, you have a "friend" that is possibly the root of the drama.

    Are you encountering this issue on the Xbox 360 or the Xbox One console? Would you be able to clarify for us the exact error message that you are seeing when you try to connect to Xbox Live?

    If you connect to the internet with wifi and when you disconnected online you pressed forget wifi password, your xbox won't be able to connect to your router to go online. Connect an ethernet cable from your xbox to your router because for some reason your
    connected without entering a password to go online like what you would have to do if you connected to wifi.

    Maybe this helps you get online to access your games etc...
