Official Xbox Twitch chat moderation.

I'm not sure the official chat moderation is being properly done and is, in fact, in danger of alienating its community.
Xbox - Twitch

I just had the following experience on the official Xbox Twitch Channel:

I was making some comments on the Twitch chat to generate some discussion and was muted.
I tried to apologise for bringing up topics or discussions that warranted being muted and was told my messages were against the moderation terms (effectively stopping me from joining the conversation or even apologising).

Again, this isn't a big issue but the messages being made during the stream were not opening up a healthy dialogue about the subject and the way it was handled is borderline fascist and isn't a mentality that Microsoft (especially Xbox) should be promoting.

My user name on Twitch is and it might be worth looking at the Twitch chat logs.
I made a comment at:
16:14 That was removed and I was muted.
16:15 Again, I was muted.
16:28 Where I apologised for being muted. It did not post and received the message: Your message wasn't posted due to conflicts with the channel's moderation settings.

Am I in the wrong? This kind of moderation isn't small c Conservativism and is big F fascism in my opinion.

Fascism shouldn't be tolerated anywhere and should be called out where it is seen. Stating things as 'problems' to an impressionable audience simplifies a topic to tribal 'us Vs them' mentalities and radicalises your community.

But yeah, you're right, it must have been my fault.

I can't ensure this as i was not part of the conversation, but as mentioned this depends on the moderators of the stream

Having been a moderator on quite a few Twitch channels in the past, having someone call me a fascist because they disagreed with how I moderated the channel wouldn't have been something I would have tolerated so no surprise they haven't either.

As to the rest of the messages, no clue as we can't see them so no idea. However, no-one on here runs Twitch so you'd need to reach out to Xbox. However, I am not sure Xbox have much to do with that channel as all the links (Twitter, Discord etc) point to Boom.tv, not Xbox. My issue would be that the channel doesn't have any chat rules listed so people know where they stand

As I mentioned, not being part of that conversation doesn't allow me to share my opinion, but as you mention it could be due to how you shared your opinion, also you need to remember that times change and with the times also the way of thinking

I pointed out that not having enough girls in programming is not a 'problem' and was trying to get a conversation going about how it is a socioeconomic oddity that just happens to have evolved over time, but that conversation was shut down and the idea of there being a problem was pushed...
