    Official xbox one mic not working with discord


    Hello. I hope I'm in the right place for this. Basically I bought this mic: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/microsoft-xbox-one-chat-headset-black/9008252.p?skuId=9008252 It's
    the official xbox one. I need it to work with my original xbox one controller that is hooked up to my windows 10 pc.

    So I was able to get it to show up in discord but it is still not registering any sound. I've re-paired it several times with connecting it to my windows pc via bluetooth AND the micro usb cable.

    Not sure what I'm doing wrong, I have followed several guides but still no joy!

    it wont work via bluetooth as the controller does not pass audio vie bluetooth.

    wired then it technically should pic the headset up as a usb audio device. i normally use either a turtlebeach 3.5mm headset or my mobile phone headset.

    not sure why it wont work over usb though.

    Both mics are xbox official headsets and controllers, one of the controllers is a day one edition but just bought another brand new official xbox controller to see if that was the problem. The Mic just randomly stopped working one evening. And yes the
    mic symbol is shown in the top right hand corner with no line through it

    THIS WORKED FOR ME! MY MIC SOUNDED AWFUL IN ONLY XBOX APP NOT DISCORD OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. RECOMMEND THIS.

    I can connect to parties fine, my mic doesn't work though whenever it is used in the xbox app but works perfectly in the discord app.

    It's a bug with the Xbox app on pc. My mic does the same thing when using the Xbox app but works fine when using an app like discord.
