    Official play and charge kit not charging.


    Having trouble with my new charge and play kit. When I put the battery in the controller that came with my Xbox One X that I bought a month ago the light on the cable does not light up and does not appear to be charging even though there is an icon on
    screen indicating it is. But when I put the battery in the controller that came with my original model Xbox one it lights up and appears to be charging.

    New Silver Xbox wireless controller

    The play and charge kit is just that a charge kit that allows you to play while charging. It does not turn it into a wired controller.

    control batteries dies after two weeks of usage

    Hi

    The controller takes regular AA batteries however there is this
    official play and charge kit     available for the controller that I find lasts for a long time and also comes supplied with a very long charging cable.

    Sounds like you may need to take this back to the place of purchase for a warranty repair or replacement.

    Is the USB cable for the charge and play kit plugged into the Xbox? Have you tried using a different port on the system, or plugging into a PC or other USB outlet?

    The USB cable is plugged into the Xbox. I have tried every port on the system as well as my PC. I contacted support and they say it may be a faulty controller so they are sending me a new one.

    If it works on another controller, and doesn't work even when plugged into a different port or PC, I would lean towards an issue with the controller as well. I'm happy to hear they are taking care of it. Chances are the new controller will work fine with
    the charge and play kit you have.

    have you tried a different controller with the charge kit,could be a bad connection,was this an official play and charge kit? as they tend to be a much better quality,i tend to use the USB to mini USB play and charge kits

    If you are looking for a rechargeable battery for your controller I would recommend getting an official play and charge kit.

    I have been using the official Xbox One play and charge kit for quite a number of years and it's still holding its charge and working great, additionally I have just checked my play and charge kit and it says it's a 3V battery.

    If it works on another controller, and doesn't work even when plugged into a different port or PC, I would lean towards an issue with the controller as well. I'm happy to hear they are taking care of it. Chances are the new controller will work fine with
    the charge and play kit you have.
