Oddball digital question on second console

So today I went out with my son and bought a second One. Regardless of what my wife thinks, this is a great idea. Hooked it up, no issues at all. I knew I would need to buy the digital copy of destiny on the new console so we could play. Physical copy
on old one, digital on new. Loaded it up on new, no prob. Son tried to play on old- and it would not run, it was greyed out as if we had to install a game we have had forever, but on hard copy. Put disk in, nothing. Had to download it from scratch.

items to note:

old console is home unit, which has his shared family account, this enables him to play my games if I'm not on.

gold is shared, he has a GT

new console has me for now signed into it.

Did I screw something up with this home console designation? I just found it weird that I have to download a digital copy on the unit that had the physical disk. What did I do wrong???

Second Xbox One Question(s)

I am in the market for a second Xbox, and will most likely be getting one on Black Friday (lots of good deals out there!) And I have a couple questions for people who have 2 (or more) Xbox consoles.

1. For digital games, can I re-download them onto the second Xbox, if I have the profile that I originally bought that game on, on that second Xbox as well? Or would I have to re-buy them?

2. If I can re-download digital games and I want to play it on that second Xbox with a second profile, can I do so? And could I do so, with both Xbox consoles on at the same time, and be able to play that same digital game at the same time? I am hoping I
can, so I could play the game I would want on both Xbox consoles at the same time; one console with the profile I bought it with, and the second Xbox with the second profile.

I hope my questions made sense.
