Occupied Gamertags

Hi

I think 2 years ago or so 10+ years old inactive accounts have been deleted and their gamertags unblocked.

Sadly the one I am looking for was only 9 years old at that time.

Is it planed to do this again so I can get the one I wanted all the time ?

It could be being used in another Microsoft service. Just because you don't see any activity on Xbox doesn't mean the account is inactive.

The tag system is in use on other Microsoft services as well. So even if it is not in use on an Xbox, it may be in use elsewhere.

Ever since I am looking for this gamertag it has a gamerscore of 190 !

No change in more than 8 years !

Microsoft revised its rules regarding account activity at the same time as they did the blanket re-release of gamertags back in 2016. The current requirement is that an account must be accessed at least once every five (5) years. So the gamertag you want
may still belong to an account Microsoft considers active under those rules.

I was not able to find any official word on a next Xbox Gamertag release. If you have a Twitter, you can try tweeting your question @Xbox as well. I'm sure you're not the only one wondering this.
