Not sure Daft Badger. When we Google'd the correct meaning of EU to find a reputable source we get:

The European Union (EU) is an economic and political union of 27 countries.

I think Daft Badger means What 'EU' means in terms of Xbox and its codes. Not that EU doesn't mean European Union.

Honestly, I'm not sure how Brexit applies with digital content codes. I did find this regarding digital content and Brexit. It applies to content streaming for services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Cross-border portability of online content services between the UK and EU



The EU Portability Regulation no longer applies to UK-EEA travel. In the UK, the regulation has been revoked.



Online content service providers are not required to provide content ordinarily available in the UK to a UK customer who is temporarily present in an EEA Member State.



This will not prevent service providers offering cross-border portability to their customers on a voluntary basis, but to do so they will need the permission of the owners of the content they provide.



Changes for UK customers of online content services



UK customers visiting the EEA and vice versa may see restrictions to the content available to them.

This will depend on the terms of their services and the licences in place between service providers and right holders.

You can still use Sky Go in the UK, just like you do now.

From 1 January 2021, you won’t be entitled to access streamed content outside the UK through Sky Go, Sky Sports and Sky Kids, but some of our apps will let you download and save shows over WiFi before you leave home so you can watch them offline when abroad.

This is because there are certain EU rules which mean people in the EU can use online content services across all EU countries. From 1 January 2021, the UK won’t be part of the EU, so we won’t be able to provide this service in the same way.

This affects lots of online video, music and entertainment services, not just Sky.
