Nvidia Geforce experience recording - Mic background noise/loud buzzing cause and fix?

While my mic is on my game recordings have this loud sort of humming or buzzing sound, and I've struggled to figure out a cause much less a solution. I don't think it's an issue with my hardware because the buzzing suddenly became much louder after I tried a different headset splitter cable I had laying around (an older one. Not the one that came with my current headset). I've always used a splitter cable with my headset.

I have provided an example of the buzzing sound so you understand what I'm dealing with: https://youtu.be/8xSmNOw1R1s

I'm currently on Windows 10 with everything updated to the latest versions. I also already tried going into the sound control panel to change some of my mic's settings as were outlined in a video I sought out on Youtube. I changed the format to 2 channel (as one channel wasn't available), 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD quality). My mic is also on max volume with audio enhancements enabled but no other options are available in levels.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    :)

Nvidia Geforce experience recording - Mic background noise/loud buzzing cause and fix?

    Hello,

My volume is on max because associates of mine kept complaining I was too quiet when communicating through apps like Skype. The only option available in my sound control panel is 'volume'. I've never had any additional options and I have no idea why as they would probably solve my problem. I have tried to fix this (lack of mic control options) in the past by updating my drivers but this always resulted in my audio devices no longer working. Rolling back my drivers was also not an option so I reinstalled windows 10 on these occasions.

I fear that reducing my volume will only leave me back where I started with my associates struggling to hear me when we speak over the internet.

Hello Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello JackB_763 2, I don't think it's any issue in the operating system whether it's Win 10 or 11, however usually sounds like these on PC connections, whether with microphones, headsets, sound tables, or even audio interfaces can suffer some interference depending on the quality of the cable or connection.

You mention that you have the volume at most, depending on this can get in the more way than to help, try to check the sensitivity of the uptake and balance the volume and the sensitivity.

One tip is to watch some videos about audio and voice capture on the Internet, this can help.

UWQHD for Forza Motorsport 6 ??

Oh right, that was in your original post, apologies for missing that! Do you have an Nvidia GPU? If so, maybe the GeForce Experience might be causing wires to get crossed a little. Within the GeForce Experience, try adjusting the game resolution from there,
or disable the Nvidia GeForce Experience from making any changes from Forza Motorsport 6: Apex entirely.

    Keep us posted!

How do I fix this visual glitch in my Nvidia shadowplay recording (only happens in L4D2 and my some old games)?

    Hi, Ritter M.

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Visual glitches in recordings with Nvidia ShadowPlay (now part of Nvidia GeForce Experience's "Share" feature) can be caused by a variety of factors, including in-game settings, overlay conflicts, or issues with the recording software itself. Here are some steps you can take to try and fix the issue:

    1. Update Your Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest Nvidia drivers installed. You can update your drivers through the Nvidia GeForce Experience app or by downloading them directly from the Nvidia website.
    2. Disable Other Overlays: Other software overlays (like Discord, Steam, or game stat trackers) can sometimes conflict with ShadowPlay. Try disabling these overlays to see if the issue persists.
    3. Change ShadowPlay Settings:
      • Open GeForce Experience and go to the Share overlay (Alt + Z by default).
      • Go to the settings (gear icon) and look for video capture settings.
      • Try changing the recording quality or resolution to see if the glitch persists.
      • Ensure that the "Allow desktop capture" option is turned off if you are only recording game footage.
    4. Run the Game in Different Modes: If you're running the game in windowed or borderless windowed mode, try switching to full-screen mode, or vice versa, to see if that affects the glitch.
    5. Reinstall GeForce Experience: Uninstall GeForce Experience and then download and install the latest version from the Nvidia website.
    6. Check for Game-Specific Issues: Some games, especially older ones, might have compatibility issues with recording software. Check online forums or the game's community pages to see if other players have reported similar issues and if there are any known fixes.
    7. Use a Different Recording Software: If the issue is isolated to ShadowPlay and specific games, consider using alternative recording software like OBS Studio or XSplit to see if the problem persists.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be a more specific problem with the game's compatibility with ShadowPlay. In such cases, reaching out to Nvidia support or checking with the game's support community for further assistance might be necessary.

    Best Regards
