NTSC XBOX 360 disc on xbox 1

So, I was rummaging through my basement, when i found a disc (halo: reach) of my old Xbox 360 (NTSC) . My friend has an xbox one (bought in india, so it must be PAL if it is region locked), so i was wondering, if i used the disc i found with his xbox, what will happen?
Will it work, will it damage the xbox, or will it trigger a download like i have been told (but since region is different, i am not much sure)

Hey there

Xbox 360 game discs are region locked. If the console is from the USA then it will be NTSC-U and will need too have NTSC-U discs from the US. India uses NTSC-J

The console itself would be region locked. It would just depend on if the disc is or not.

If it doesn't work because of region locking, there will be a message that it doesn't match. It wouldn't damage the console or anything.

if the region matches the Xbox one it will download an Xbox one compatible version

so, if the xbox is not region locked but the disc is, even then it wont work?
