Now TV 5.1 issue

Discus and support Now TV 5.1 issue in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Is it just me or does the Now TV app not have 5.1 sound, if not why not?     Now TV 5.1 issue


    Is it just me or does the Now TV app not have 5.1 sound, if not why not? All other video apps preform with 5.1 would be nice to watch a movie on now TV with full sound. Will this be fixed soon or should I just cancel my account.

    TV Tuner Stereo output only?

    I'm having the same issue. I had the HomeWorx connected to my Xbox and I had 5.1 audio from most HD channels, probably because it was via HDMI. Now, there is no 5.1 audio via USB. My opinion, the TV app needs to be updated to support 5.1 audio via USB.

    Cant activate 4k and 5.1 audio on Xbox one X get error 0x80bd0009

    After talking with chat support, they told me it was better to post here the issue i have and LOTS of others are having aparently.

    I now have the Xbox One X, with a LG 60UF850V tv (no hdr) and the TV connected with optical cable with a 5.1 home cinema.

    When i had the One S, i had it working perfectly with 5.1 audio at 1080p resolution through HDMI cable.

    But now with Xbox One X when i try to select 5.1 audio i get error 0x80bd0009.

    I did some searching and apparently many others were having this issue on xbox one S and solution was changing Video Output from Automatic to HDMI. When i do this, i can only select 1080p resolution, not 4K. but 5.1 audio issue is solved

    So with Xbox one X i can only use 4k or 5.1 audio.

    Solution for now is connect optical cable directly on xbox, but i will lose 5.1 audio on TV apps, Playstation, Raspberry,...

    I see people here with this issue for almost 2 years and still no fix or no word from microsoft about this

    Surround Sound issues using XBOX ONE (games work in 5.1, apps only in stereo)

    I have similar issue with Yamaha processor. Running through to processor using HDMI. Games are 5.1 but Amazon love film and Now TV are only coming through as stereo. Only thing to add is that the processor is indicating that it is receiving a 5.1 signal
    (PCM)... Which makes things worse as I now can't enable Dolby Pro Logic on the stream.

    Will try with HDMI straight to TV and optical to Processsor.

    I notice the only time I have sound issues is when I'm watching tv and the show or movie is not in 5.1 and just DD, I only get stereo. When that happens I just switch my receiver to Matrix and it outputs 5.1 surround. Might not be the best, but works for
    now.

    XBOX ONE audio question (Center Speaker)

    February 2015- This is kind of crazy but it worked for me. I was not getting 5.1 out of TV through my XBO but I WAS getting 5.1 from movies and games.

    In the XBO menu I switched the audio to "Stereo" from 5.1/7.1 and now I'm actually getting 5.1 sound. Makes no sense but give it a shot.

    Will this issue ever be resolved Microsoft? To get surround sound (5.1) for live TV I may have to give up the guide and XBOX ONE and get live TV through my TV where I get 5.1 surround. This is going backward in my opinion as XBOX ONE guide is excellent.
