Now I'm VERY concerned.....

"That you will do to Splinter Cell what you have done to AC3. Please don't put out work that isn't finished. AC games were quality. But no more. Please put the resources you didn't use to work on Splinter Cell. Maybe you'll read this maybe not,
but I felt compelled to do so. Im still in shock. Its been a long time since I posted a thread, sorry it had to be this. "



Well, we are at AC5 and STILL, another premature release. Slow down guys. I have yet to complete my in games purchases, download my content and even get to play FIRST MISSION because of faulty script. Please, check your workflow. I love Ubisoft and
the AC games. I once again plead, keep this lack of supervision to the AC family. Do not let Splinter Cell be the next Victim in the XBONE port. Please buff out the scratches and lets hang the Christmas Tree air freshener back in this bad boy called UNITY.

Very Concerned Xbox Customer

Since I cannot seem to find a way to actually send this directly to Microsoft I suppose I will just post this here.

To whom it may concern;

I wanted to express my concern over several things that I have learned about the new Xbox One since it was revealed to the public. I also understand that at this early stage in the new console’s buildup there is a lot of inaccurate information floating
around the internet and much of what I am currently worried about may turn out to be unfounded. However, if it does prove to be true I wanted to express my displeasure and inform you that I will under no circumstances purchase a new console from you with
these features enabled.

First, and foremost, I am deeply troubled by the implications of the always on Kinect. I understand that you are attempting to truly integrate the Kinect into the new console by requiring it to be connected to the system in order for it to function. That
makes perfect sense. What bothers me is that, if I understand correctly, it is always on, even when the console is turned off. This is troubling. The Kinect is a sophisticated piece of hardware that includes a microphone and a camera. I would not be comfortable
allowing a device like that into my home if it cannot be turned off easily and completely when I wish to. There are just too many ways that something like that could be abused to invade my privacy for me to willingly purchase it. Plus, I don’t really like
the idea of the Xbox One turning itself on any time someone in the room says something that sounds enough like “Xbox On”.

Second, I am concerned with the licensing model you plan to use for games on the Xbox One. What I mean is that I am troubled the talk of each game disk sold for the machine having one license that is linked solely to one account. It was bad enough when
Electronic Arts started including online passes in its games, but frankly, if what I have been reading turns out to be true, this is taking it to an absurd level. I understand why you want to do it this way. You want to get around the first sale doctrine
of copyright law and either prevent the resale of games outright or get your share of the pie through the used game selling and trading system which has been touted but not explained at this point.

Like I said, I understand this desire, but this way of acting upon it is unacceptable to me for several reasons. In no particular order, you will seriously hamper the ability of gamers to acquire used games. I mainly purchase my games new, but this will
be of serious concern to many. However, I am concerned with the way that the licensing is going to work. Since the license is linked to the original account the disk becomes virtually worthless once that license is used. This has been explained to mean
that only people using the same machine or a machine running under the licensee’s profile can play that game.

This licensing system as currently described by your executives makes it impossible for people to rent a game or to borrow a game from someone. It also makes it much more difficult than it should be for families with more than one machine in their house
to share games between them. Theoretically the second machine could just sign in under the account that the license is attached to, but in many instances that would completely negate the family settings that allow parents to regulate what their children are
seeing and playing.

Right now, it seems that the only solution for these problems you have offered is that people will just need to buy another license, at the full cost of a brand new game, to play the game. That obviously defeats the point of buying a used game for a lower
price, renting a game, borrowing a game, or a family purchasing a game to be shared amongst their machines. And to top it off, your executives have the gall talk about this licensing system like it is a new feature to be proud of and that gamers will want
this instead of being honest about it. This is clearly a drastic reduction of the rights that the licensee had under the disk centered license system used by both of your previous console generations and no amount of cloud support and integration will change
that.

I hope that my concerns about these issues are unwarranted. I was truly excited about the launch of the next cycle of Xbox, and nothing would make me happier to

learn that these issues have been addressed, or that they never really existed. However, if these features as I understand them are included in the Xbox One when it is released to the public I will not purchase one under any circumstances. This is disappointing
to me because I have been a user of Xbox products since almost the very beginning of the original Xbox’s cycle and have thoroughly enjoyed them for over a decade. But I will not spend any amount of money on, or even accept without cost, a machine that has
these serious issues included as features.
