Nothing happening when I enter a gift code.

A friend of mine gifted Destiny 2: Forsaken + Annual pass to me a bit earlier today, but when I try to redeem the code nothing happens. Once the code is fully entered either through the app, Microsoft.com or the Xbox itself I get taken to the front page
of the store (or my account page on the website). There's no error messages, it doesn't say it's been added to my account, it hasn't appeared in my download queue nor is it under the ready to download section for the game itself. I've entered the code multiple
times now and it's not even saying it's already been used, so any idea what's up?

I received an xbox gift card for Christmas. When I enter the redeem code I receive "This code isn't active yet". How does that happen and how do I redeem my gift card?

 

Well first if your friend isnt from the same region as you it wont work

So if you are in france but using uk but he is a frenfh account it wont work

 

We're both UK, so unless him being in Scotland and me being in England is the issue?

There is a known issue with redeeming codes for Destiny 2 DLC that were purchased as gifts. Microsoft is feverishly working on it, please monitor the thread here:
