    Nothing downloads, updates or installs on Xbox One S


    So have an Xbox One S, working absolutely fine for a year and a half. On fibre broadband, 30mbps download speeds. Then two things happen; 1. I move the Xbox to another room and get a new Sky Router and subsequent Booster box (internet provider) which is in the same room. 2. My son accidentally cancelled an Apex Legends update which removed the entire game from the machine.

    I can’t say which event was the moment at which everything went wrong, but these two things happened roughly the same time and shortly after it’s all gone to shit. The internet is connected, I’ve reset the device, removed external drive, tried IP manual settings, and nothing works. It won’t even install Xbox avatar updates let alone a full game.

    A lot of subreddits have this problem and nobody has an answer so I’m hoping Microsoft professionals can explain to me how this happened, and why, and how to fix it.

    Recently I bought Mortal Kombat 11 ultimate on disc.

    Since you have a disc drive, you have a One S.

    If you look at it, is it downloading an update? Try installing and refusing the update. Install the update after the game has installed by starting the game.

    Although nothing is certain, with the Xbox one X and S you need an internet connection to firstly set up and install the download for the inital set up, so the chances are that you will also need one for the Xbox Scarlet when it comes out.

    The reason for this is because there is a game update that is taking place BEFORE the install takes place. You get no notification of the game update and the progress bar will just sit at 0% and there will be nothing on the download queue. You just need
    to wait it out and once the game update is complete the install percentage will begin. Hopefully there will be an update that let 's you monitor game update progress so as not to confuse users thinking that the install is not working.

    The reason it take forever to install is because the install % also includes the download % of the update, x1 games updates are gigs instead of the 360's megs.

    So I got this error as well. Nothing seems to fix it. I went out and purchased a brand new Xbox One S. Same problem! System installs that fall update patch and boom E200 USB won't fix it either!
