Not using all the bandwidth that it could use (uses 3/4mb of 30mb available)

As the title says, the video quality is very bad, and it is because it is using a 10/100 that it has available. I don't know if there is any extra configuration, but I'm just using it as it comes. I tried it from the app in windows and from the browser (I discarded the browser due to the amount of input lag it gives me). I am using a notebook with a high performance power plan and it is plugged in. Does anyone know what I can do? By the way, it's not a bandwidth problem because while I saw it using 3mb (task manager) I ran some speed tests and checked for the 30mb. Thank you!

    :)

    That's normal

You gotta remember 30mbps is your connection speed but it's not your download speed

    Which is measured in MBps

And yes there is a different and it's not caps

When you buy internet connection you are buying for example 30 megabits per second connection

But when you download computers don't count in megabits

    They count in megabytes

For every megabit you count 8x to make a megabyte

So your true download speed would be 30/8 = 3.75mBps

This Is partly why you don't

Download.at.1gigbit per second on gigabit connections

Between nodes it isn't always 1gigbit connection

So the farther you are away from the servers the slower you get

Yes this is how the internet works and computers which is another topic completely (storage )

Hi! I know that. The min requirement is 20 Mbps, and I have 30 Mbps (3.75mBps). When it downloads to 17Mbps (2.12mBps) it looks good, but then the download speed drops to 3Mbps (0.37mBps), the problem isn't the connection, the problem is that it does not sustain the download speed to up 17Mbps (2.12mBps)

Something interesting to add is that for example Battlefield 5 works fine, at 17mb all the time, but other games have the problem that I mentioned

Why I am losing faith in MS and have none for the Xbox One

I use Youtube almost everyday on my Xbox 360 and the video quality is always HD and never buffers. I have a 30Mb/s download and 4Mb/s upload. Either your internet connection is sub-par to stream videos sufficiently or something else but Microsoft is not
    at fault here.

    xbox using all my bandwidth

    Thanks for reply

I assumed it was the router and have gone into the router settings to see if there's anything I can do to no avail.

Just find it odd that it seems like the only device that does this especially with both a wired and wireless connection. I would of possibly expected it when it's wired but wireless I thought it'd get treated like any other device.

Wasn't sure if there was some setting on the Xbox itself that gave it priority over other devices.

Oh well I'll call my isp tonight to see if they can shed some light on the matter

You would need to have a look at your router as this is the device that decides what happens with internal network traffic on your home network.
