Not recording games before Upload Studio can edit 4k HDR Game DVR from external HDD!

Still waiting for Microsoft to further improve the Game DVR features on XBox One X. Most important is to upgrade Upload Studio to edit 4k HDR Game DVR from EXTERNAL HDD, instead of having to disconnect the external HDD, edit it on PC, then plug it back again. That's
just stupid, as the XBox One X should be able to handle all that. Have Upload Studio to support unlimited 4k HDR Game DVR from external HDD, up to 1 hour, and being able to share it with XBox Live, Facebook, OneDrive, Twitter and YouTube.

The new YouTube app for XBox One X (awaiting HDR-support) now supports 4k video clips, so it should be possible to upload 4k Game DVR to it. But I want to edit them in Upload Studio, then bring them up to XBox Live and YouTube.

I WON'T record Game DVRs BEFORE Microsoft have updated the Game DVR features further on XBox One X, and updated Upload Studio to edit 4k HDR Game DVR stored on EXTERNAL HDD, up to 1 hour. It should be fairly simple to provide such support!

It's time to do that NOW. No more waiting...Get it done, then we all can have a good day!

    :)

Game DVR still too limited on XBox One X

The new Game DVR feature of XBox One X is impressive, allowing 4k HDR to be recorded in 60 fps.

The GOOD news is that you can use a NTFS-formatted, external HDD to up to 1h Game DVRs and edit on PC.

The BAD news are at least 3 of them. I'll list them up...

    1. Upload Studio and YouTube are not yet updated to edit and support 4k HDR Game DVRs. These should be updated...

    2. Upload Studio could be ported to Windows as well, as not only be an app for XBox One.

    3. 4k HDR Game DVRs are stored in MP4-format, which is great, but coded, making it difficult to be recognized by most video editing softwares on PC. I tried to used Movie Maker for YouTube and Instagram on PC, but wouldn't notice the Game DVRs stored as
    MP4 on external harddrive.

So again, Upload Studio and YouTube should be updated to allow editing and supporting up to 1h 4k HDR Game DVRs stored on external HDD. This is what eeryone wants, so make that happen as soon as possible...

Isn't it time to update YouTube app and Upload Studio app now?

Isn't it time to update the new YouTube app to support Upload of edited game clips done in Upload Studio? The new YouTube app now supports 4k 60Fps Game DVRs clips, but lacks support for HDR and to Upload edited game clips when logged into your YouTube account.

More important, neither the YouTube app and the Upload Studio app supports up to 1h of 4k HDR 60fps Game DVR stored on EXTERNAL HDD. Both applications need to support it now. Been a long wait, and NOW it's time to have these updated...

There's a new game I got myself for Christmas 2017. The game is Assassin's Creed Origins, and I haven't start playing the game yet. As long as both apps are not updated to be able to support 4k HDR 60fps Game DVR up to 1h, stored on EXTERNAL HDD, HDR in
YouTube and Upload function, then there's no reason for me to play new games as long as these things are not possible.

I think that goes without saying, so it's time to get these apps updated. No more waiting. I got better things to do with my time than waiting.

I know Microsoft do they best and they have done great, but they can always do better...

    xbox

    Hi Tristan,

There are several reasons why you are unable to edit your Game DVR videos on Xbox One Upload Studio. It is possible that the video that you are trying to edit is saved online only. To properly isolate your concern, please provide us the following information:

    • Did you download the video from your Game DVR before editing it on the Upload Studio?
    • Were you able to edit the videos that you recorded using the Game DVR on the Xbox One console?
    • Are you only trying to edit game clips?

In the meantime, you may try to record a game clip using the Game DVR on Xbox One and edit it on the Upload Studio to help isolate the issue further. You may refer to this

    link
    as your guide.

    Xbox live captures on pc

    Hey Jason!

Thanks for reaching out to us today. Game clips on Xbox are recorded, edited, and shared from the Game DVR feature associated to the Upload Studio app. The Upload Studio app is the only way to upload and share clips that you recorded from Xbox or Xbox on
    Windows 10.

As of right now, I don't think there is a way to convert or transfer your recorded files that are captured using your internal graphics card. All clips are captured using the Game DVR feature and then edited and shared from Upload Studio.

    Look over our
Game DVR and Upload Studio on Xbox One
article online that goes over how to record and share clips on Xbox.

    Hope this helps!

edit xbox clips on xbox app on pc and upload it

    Hi Rastigan,

The only videos that are eligible for upload is if they have been recorded using the Game DVR, if a video is taken from Game DVR and edited externally, the Xbox App will recognize the file as external and not allow it to be uploaded.

I hope this information helps, thanks.

    Player Studio Clips.

When something happens that you want to record, say "Xbox, Snap Game DVR". From there you are all set. Or if it's literally something that happened in a split second, you can say "Xbox, record that". When you are ready to edit and upload you just head to
    the upload studio.
