Not loading into a Smite game

when playing Smite, I go to select a match and it loads fine. I select a god to play as and everythings fine there but when in the loading screen for the match the game just sits there and does nothing but load. ive tried to restart
the game even redownload the game and the same thing keeps happening. is there a way to fix this problem before something bad happens like me getting ban from xbox live for not playing the match.

My Xbox One shuts down if I try to play games

Update 2: Oddly enough, the game smite does not turn off the xbox when I get in the game, but right as I get to the god selection lobby. This goes against what I thought was causing the problem because I'm not loading much at all, just connecting to players.
Unless there is something I don't understand about power usage, this seems like a software problem. In GTA online I can connect and load in but only for a second, every time. But Smite causes it to shut down the moment I connect to other players, without loading
much of anything. I am very confused.

Made a character and have spent 3+ hours on the loading screen trying to play....looks like it's back to smite...

 

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

 

Check your internet connection and Xbox Live services for this game

 

You shouldn't worry about getting banned from Xbox Live as you didn't violate any of it's policies. I had this issue before BUT ON PC, I fixed it by rebooting my modem as it seemed to be a connectivity issue.
