    Not Getting Skype Notifications


    Hi Guys,

    Perhaps this is just the way skype works on xbox one, but I have the setting to receive Skype notifications turns on, but I only ever get them while im in the app fullscreen. Meaning if I come home, turn my xbox on and start playing a game and someone tries
    to call me on skype, I do not get a notification on the xbox.

    Must I open skype each time I turn on the console to receive notifications?

    Under Settings > Preferences I have Show Notifications: On, Skype: On, Message: On, Party: on, Gaming and System: On.

    I'm terribly sorry your having this issue as I WILL do my best to address it!

    First: Skype Should be enabled in the Skype App & the Dashboard, to do that please follow the directions below!

    Skype App:

    1. First, Open the Skype Application.

    2. Then press the Menu Button (The menu button has the large 'X' on it, not the blue one)

    3. Select Settings, & then press the 'A' Button.

    4. You should then select 'Notifications' - and make sure "Show All Notifications" is checked.

    Dashboard:

    1. Open the settings menu

    2. Select Preferences, & then click 'A'

    3. Make sure that "Show Skype Notifications" is checked

    Please then Note that the presence for you & the person you want to Call, Message, & receive notifications from is set to "Available"

    I do hope that this helps resolve the problem, if so please let me know, as I'm happy to help! Not Getting Skype Notifications :)

    My OS number is 6.2.10217.0 same as above.

    I get the notifications while the XB1 is on, however if it is off I do not. I haven't tried not having the Skype app not running, but I'll probably find out when someone tries to call me and it does not go through.

    Are Skype notifications enabled in both the dashboard and the Skype app?

    Dashboard
    1. Open Settings.
    2. Select Preferences, and then press A.
    3. Ensure Show Skype notifications is checked.
    Skype app
    1. Open Skype.
    2. On the controller, press the menu button (the one with the 3 horizontal lines).
    3. Select Settings, and then press A.
    4. Select Notifications, and then ensure that Show all notifications is checked.
    If both of these are set appropriately, make sure that the presence for yourself and the other user is set to
    Available:

    1. Press the menu button to dismiss the application menu, and then press
      A (your avatar is selected by default at this point).
    2. Verify that your presence is Available, not Invisible.
    3. If the presence is Invisible, press down on the d-pad to select the presence picker, and then press
      A.
    4. Ensure that Available is selected (has a white background), and then press
      A.
