Not getting rewards for my annual renewal of membership

You can earn Xbox Live Rewards Credit in two ways:

1. By finishing the offers located on the MyMissions page at https://rewards.xbox.com/mymissions/ .

2. For non-offer purchases, you can earn Credits by earning a one star MyVIP level through purchasing at least $300 USD or regional equivalent of eligible content. After you receive your first star you will begin to earn a percentage of your eligible purchases
back as payback Rewards Credit. Pre-orders, in-game consumables, and subscriptions are not eligible for MyVIP.

In September 2014 we changed to the MyVIP policy. As a result, payback based off Gamerscore (MyAchievements) was discontinued. Also, as of July 2014, we do not award Credits for Xbox Live Gold renewals. In September 2015, we made some refinements to the
program. One change that happened was an adjustment of MyVIP purchase thresholds. If you did not reach any MyVIP ranks with your purchases from September 2014-August 31st 2015, you were placed at a default rank. Since you are a zero star member, you do not
get payback Credits on your purchases. You can check your current MyVIP level/progress at (https://rewards.xbox.com/myrewards/).

As of July 1, 2014, there are no offers to receive credits for renewing gold.

I have had membership for years I did not once cancel my membership I've always had it on auto renewal. I have 2750 credits pending. Also why didn't I get any rewards for the past 2 years while I've had my account on auto renewal???

The OP may want to get the full benefit of the trial, and I'm not sure whether or not the free trial stacks. I'm sure Xbox Customer Support on the phone, however, can change the settings on the account regarding which membership the trial renews into, allowing
the OP to get the full 30 days from the free trial and then the benefit of the annual membership after that.

In order to get the credits, your current membership has to expire and the new membership will have to roll through. Then, you will receive the credits.

"Renewing your Gold membership, whether on Xbox One or Xbox 360, is a quick and easy way to earn up to 3,000 Rewards Credits. You'll earn Credits each time you renew your Gold membership, and if you sign up for a 12-month Gold membership, you'll get
all your Rewards Credits at once. Please note, you will receive your Credits once your current Gold membership ends and your new Gold membership kicks in."
