Not getting notifications for friends being online.

Hi, I have been having this issue for about a month and a half now. I am not getting any type of notification for when a friend or favorite friend comes online. I have double check to make sure I have the setting on for notifications and it is in deed on. I have restarted my console, hard restarted it and even removed my profile and redownloaded it. I am part of the Alpha Build for Xbox but I was informed today by two of my friends who are not in any testing build, that they are also having this issue. It isn't telling them when friends come online and they both also have the setting checked for this. They have also done the same steps like I did. The friends list is also not showing correctly. It will show when someone is in a game but not an app. Like it shows them playing Street Fighter 6 but when on the Youtube app, it will just say that they are on the home screen. I even see it for my profile when I am in a party chat, shows the game I am in but not any of the apps. Is there anything that can be done to fix this? I was thinking of doing a factor reset but I really don't want to do that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

Just a friendly reminder though that there are multiple reports in regards to the same issue, however, there are no official announcements yet from Microsoft which means that we just need to perform troubleshooting steps.

I have here steps that we can try, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

"1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. "

If that didn't work we may need to manage the notification settings by blocking or turning off the notification and then turning it back on just to refresh it.

I have done all this. Power cycled and checked the notifications settings. I found a reddit post from a month ago stating that this is happening to others. And I have spoken to up to 10 people now and they all say the same thing. No notifications and the friends list won't update unless they are playing a video game. I made a report on the console but is there any where else I can make a report of this? It is clearly an Xbox issue and needs to be addressed.

My friends and I are having the same issue with friend online notifications not working on the consul and Xbox phone app. We have also done all the troubleshooting steps and nothing is working. This issue has been happening for a little over a month now and its odd that this has been reported by so many people yet there is no announcements from Microsoft even recognizing the issue...

Thank you so much for the detailed information and I apologize for the trouble. Yes, there are multiple reports in regard to the same issue, but there are no official announcements from Microsoft.

Since we can now have up to 1000 friends, notifications for them being online would be crazy. BUT, it would be nice to get notifications for friends that come online if they are in your favorites.
