Not being able to log back into my xbox app and been given another account on my email.

So I have been trying to log back into my xbox account for a while now on the xbox app, however I am unable to do so as xbox has gave me a brand new account istead. I have not asked for a new one. This means that the only way of doing anything to do with
xbox I have to do it all on my xbox. Would like a helpful way to resolve this.

Hello Lambert,

Thanks for coming to the forums. Being that you signed in and got a new gamer tag, you most likely didn't sign in with the correct email. You can go to the
account website and sign in there, we also recommend to try a couple different emails. If still unable to get in the correct account you can request a call back from a support agent.
You can supply your normal gamer tag and IF they are able to verify the account they can give you the information on the account.

When you go to
Contact Us to get it to request a callback follow these steps:

Step 1 ----select Xbox One
Step 2 ----select see more options then subscription changes
Step 3-----select show contact options
Step 4 ----select request a call from support

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.

Make sure you are trying to log into the old account with the same email address that you used on it. If you can't get that to work try contacting support directly using this

So looks like ive fixed it.. at least for now..

The whole issue started after I changed my primary alias email for my microsoft account to a different email address, because im moving soon and wont have access to the current email...

It appears to be related to that, because after troubleshooting with microsoft for about 2 hours, and even going so far as to reinstall windows thinking that my win10 profile was corrupted, I still couldnt get the xbox pc app to log me in properly with my
xbox live account.

As a test i went back into my microsoft account and reverted the primary email to the one i had previously, and when i launched the Xbox app, it instantly loaded my account information, and i had full access. Im glad its working, but am concerned about
when I move and no longer have access to that email address. I REALLY would like to be able to log in with my new email being my primary alias.. but for now ill manage until I have enough patience for another round of chatting with microsoft.
