    Not being able to leave my family


    I was added into a family, but it is just me. I am over the age to not have privacy settings. I cannot leave the family, nor can I change my settings. Please help, it is really bothering me and I'm unable to play games with friends because of it. I don't want to wait two months to remake my account.

    Unfortunately, child accounts cannot change their Xbox profile privacy settings. Doesn't matter if they are on a family group or not - and if you are, you cannot leave the group too.

    Also, changing your Microsoft account birthdate does not change your Xbox profile birthdate. So if you try to change it to make yourself an adult, it will not work. The Xbox profile birthdate is set when you create your Xbox profile and cannot be changed.

    Your only option here if you need to change your privacy settings is to ask a parent to create a family group (if there isn't one already), invite you to the group as a member and change your privacy settings for you.

    Hi gniviL, if you only just upgraded to the family pack it can take a little while for the system to update your account information. You can try to speed things up by doing an xbox live network test on your console or sometimes simply signing out and then
    back into your profile works.
