Not able to redeem code I just bought because the payment option on an existing...

If the current subscription has not expired and you have no outstanding balance due any valid code redeemed should just add that time on to the end of the current subscription.

If the sub ended and you have a balance due then you must pay the balance due first.

Where did you purchase the code?

All Xbox service are available but you can try waiting a bit and entering it again.

I never added paypal as a payment option because i was somewhat able to redeem any code i want before the account migration. I wanted to add paypal this time as a payment option instead of the credit card and see if it works...but i ned a credit card,even
for paypal.

I'd recommend visiting account.microsoft.com and checking your Payment Options under Payments & Billing tab on that page. Make sure your payment options are in order.

As for redeeming the existing card, you might want to try a different browser to redeem at redeem.microsoft.com If it's not a 5x5 code, then check the print on the card as the retailer from which is was bought might have a different process to
get the active code to use.
