Not able to play Minecraft with my kids

I have no clue! I bought the Starter Collection for PC from the Microsoft store. When It tells me I need to unlock the full game, it takes me to the Microsoft store where it tells me I already own the game, and yet when I go to play it, it tells me I need to buy the game!

Yes, I just have the same Microsoft account. I create a separate email account for them to login into with a different username, but both on the same Microsoft account.

you only need one copy, sign into your account through the windows store on your kids machine and download the game from your library, then sign back into the store with their id and they get access to your game, you can then play on your machine with the same game, i do this with all my kids, you can install on up to 10 devices

I have a laptop and a desktop in my home. My kids wanted to play Minecraft with me. We could both play on the 1 account, but it was weird so I purchased a second copy of Minecraft Starter Collection.

I set up an email account for the laptop (kids) so we could play with different user names.

About a week later, when I logged into my account to play with the kids, it would not let us multiplayer. It kept prompting me to buy Minecraft. When I clicked to buy it says I already own the game.

Please help. I'm concerned my account just thinks I have 1 copy, even though I bought, too. I'm guessing I should have made another Microsoft account for the kids copy, but I'm a bit late for that. Any suggestions on how to make this work? I can't get ahold of XBox support for help.

Hmm okay! This seems tricky, what edition did you buy? Bedrock or JAVA?
