Non stop static threw headeset when plugging xbox series x controller into pc

I understand that you’re experiencing persistent static noise in your Bluetooth headset when you connect an Xbox Series X controller to your PC. Let’s troubleshoot this issue and find a possible solution:

1. Controller Compatibility:
   
   • The Xbox Series X controller is designed to work seamlessly with Windows PCs. However, there might be compatibility issues specific to your setup.
     
   • Ensure that you’re using an official Xbox Series X controller and not a third-party one.
     
2. Bluetooth Pairing:
   
   • If you’re connecting the controller via Bluetooth, follow these steps:
     
     1. Turn off the Xbox Series X controller.
        
     2. Press and hold the pairing button on the controller (located near the USB-C port) until the Xbox button starts flashing.
        
     3. On your PC, go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & Other Devices.
        
     4. Click “Add Bluetooth or other device” and select Bluetooth.
        
     5. Choose the Xbox controller from the list of available devices.
        
     6. Once paired, test if the static noise persists.
        
3. Wired Connection:
   
   • Try connecting the Xbox Series X controller to your PC using a USB-C cable. This eliminates any potential Bluetooth-related issues.
     
   • If the static noise disappears with a wired connection, it might be related to Bluetooth interference.
     
4. Interference and Drivers:
   
   • Check for interference sources near your PC. Other wireless devices (Wi-Fi routers, cordless phones, etc.) can cause interference.
     
   • Make sure your Bluetooth drivers are up to date. Visit your PC manufacturer’s website or the Bluetooth adapter manufacturer’s site to download the latest drivers.
     
5. USB Ports:
   
   • Plug the Xbox controller into a different USB port on your PC. Sometimes, certain ports can cause issues.
     
   • Use a USB 3.0 port if available, as it provides better power and data transfer.
     
6. Grounding and Electrical Noise:
   
   • Static noise can occur due to grounding issues. Ensure that your PC and all components are properly grounded.

The keyboard itself plugs into my controller and the usb, I have plugged into the usb port on the front of my xbox series x. When using the keyboard, the keyboard works but the mic stops working.

The headset works fine in other devices and when plugged into the front audio port on my pc. The static only occurs when it is plugged into my xbox one controller, and the controller port worked fine until I updated drivers.

Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X controllers work on Xbox Series X|S, and vice versa. However, Xbox 360 is on it's own, similar to the OG Xbox.

What's cool however is if you remote stream Xbox One, One S, One X, Series S, or Series X on, say, a PC, you can plug in a 360 controller and use it on the newer generation.

But no, newer controllers aren't supported on 360.

If you are only using the controller on the PC and never on a Console then this should not happen.

the issue on comes in on the console side that when it is plugged into the PC to charge (as an example) that the controller binds to the PC, and needs to be resetup over Bluetooth.

The current controllers can only bind to a single source at a time, however this has been announced to be changing on the new controllers when Series X launches.
