    Noice coming from the WD blue 500GB hard drive (stock) and Xbox One won’t work


    I had this problem a while ago and kind of gave up on Microsoft, but i still like them. I took apart the Xbox One and figured that the sound was coming from the hard drive. Just wanted to know if i would have you get a new one or what. -Thanks

    Detecting as Media Drive

    I bought a CiT USB3.0 enclosure and put in a spare 500GB WD Blue Sata3 HDD but i can't get it to detect as a games & apps drive

    The WD has a green drive in it. As long as you are OK with that get the WD 4TB. I personally will never buy another Green drive. I prefer the Blue or Red class drives from WD.

    Here is what I bought for my Xbox One for Storage. At the time the 2TB was on sale for 89.99. This drive is a 7200RPM drive with a 64MB cache and comes with a 3 year warranty.

    Hey StrawyScarab959! Because the console has been opened you will need to purchase a new one to resolve the issue. Opening the console for self-repair generally voids any warranty associated with the console. Thanks!

    Using a retail WD Blue 500 GB HDD as a replacement internal HDD in my Xbox 360 with the standard 20 GB HDD.

    The best thing to do is make the WD blue an external drive, that way you can still have the 20 GB drive, and use the 500GB drive to store your games on. If you replace the 20GB, then you will not be able to play original Xbox games that are backward compatible on the Xbox 360, as the emulator is stored on the Xbox 360 hard drive.

    I connect via USB an external 1tb drive to my Xbox 360, and store all my Xbox 360 digital games on it, and still use the internal drive for saves, and add-ons that I have for the games.

    Hi there,

    There are 3 Xbox 360 systems to choose from: The original launch Xbox 360, Xbox 360 Slim and Xbox 360 E.

    After using all of them, I would recommend the E model. :) It is designed to sit nicely alongside an Xbox One and is absolutely silent. You can also pick up some special limited edition colours, my personal favourite being the

    blue console    , which comes with a matching controller and a 500GB hard drive. :)

    WD my book 3TB external hard dive, need advise

    I would agree if the Xbox one couldn't use an external HDD, but it can, so the 500GB HDD was plenty to begin with. 1 TB xbox ones are also available right now.

    The WD HDD Book version is just as good as the passport, they both use WD HDD drives. Mine has run since the update and works perfect!
