no volumn on my new headset.last one worked fine

bought a new controller and headset cant get the headset volumn to turn up.this is the second headset today the first had the same problem so i think its a setting.i have a xbox one s.can someone help me.im 60 years old and cant fix a computer problem and i sure cant fix this either.my son is 6 and im just trying to do something nice for him but this is a nightmare.

Here's how to access the audio setting for headsets:

Plug your headset into your controller
Press the Xbox button on the controller to pull up the guide
Press RB until you get to the gear icon on the far right
Below Settings should be Audio(where the chat mixer for headsets is located)

Thanks for your post... I did the test and i can hear the sound... the two boxes were checked. I unchecked them, saved, tried xbox app - did not work - went back in and checked the boxes, saved, tried xbox app again. still does not work. All works
fine in discord so I know its not my cables or headphones are volumne. Checked my NAT and its open (was blocked but fixed that). But still no sound in xbox app.

. did you have this same problem?

thanks for coming to the forums with your question. You are unable to hear anything through the headset? If you hit the guide button on controller go to far right icon called system if you see audio there check for headset volume move slider to the right.

Are you connecting the headphones directly into the controller or using an Adaptor?

I know I had issues with talking/chatting and I had to end up buying a adaptor for this to work. If it is just sound you might try updating your controller.
