NO Support for South Africa on Xbox Series X repairs.

Hi All,

Location : South Africa

So I have no other place to turn so venting my frustration here. We have zero support for Xbox here in RSA, I bought a brand new Xbox Series X 2 months ago.

After 1 month of use the disc drive stopped reading discs, logged a call online because there is no other way to get help.

It's been 30 days now with no update or anything.

Question number one: Microsoft how difficult is it to design a disc drive that works for more than 30 days.

Question two: Why don't we have any support in this country, no physical team or repair Centre. (You sell plenty of console here and we have to pay $ 980 for something that costs $500 in the US)

Please get back to me before ignite this console and buy a PS5. (We can set anything on fire here in RSA)

Thanks for the response to my rather pointless post. I'm in the IT field and understand that certain things fail from time to time.

Having no support for a product that you sell isn't acceptable though, to me anyway.

Can't call anyone, the "virtual assistant" doesn't work to get a call back.

My order number : 1526117266 for a replacement "refurbished" device.

While I cannot answer the service center question, usually having dedicated teams is directly tied to population and revenue in a country. European countries all have to mail to Germany. Broken systems are mailed in the Us to Texas with a 5 day ground shipping each way to me so I feel your pain.

Microsoft and Sony both buy their drives from OEM like Lite-On who manufacture the drives for nearly everyone Even if there’s another brand name on it, chances are they made it. Same goes for analog sticks, everyone sources from the same company.

I’m sorry no one here has access to any repair or support tickets you might have, you should re contact support and get your warranty repair moving if you haven’t sent it in already (not clear on that)

How do I get Megaman 9 and 10 for Xbox 360 in South Africa as well as the Megaman X series.

Repairing it is a tricky situation for me, since I’m in South Africa and not sure where to take it for repairs. It’s an XBox One S. or are you looking for the Model number?

Sorry if I misunderstood your region or country. I thought Namibian is part of South Africa. Well, based on the supported region list, it only indicates South Africa. If you're country is independent from South Africa, I am afraid the services are not available yet in your country.
