NO sound via headset./controlers

Discus and support NO sound via headset./controlers in XBoX on Windows to solve the problem; New head set, New controller. Still no sound. Used all the Microsoft advice - still no luck.     NO sound via headset./controlers


    New head set,

    New controller.

    Still no sound.

    Used all the Microsoft advice - still no luck.

    Is it the console

    No so7nd through headset

    I have a new Turtlebeach headset when I plug it in to my wireless controller the sound is stoll via the TV and not the headset

    helmet problem

    For game sound the headset needs to be connected to the console via an adapter.

    The connection to the controller is only used for in game chat.

    Thanks for replying CarTzy. I have reverted back to the newer drivers. I use a cabled headset not wireless btw. I have noticed that when I plug in the controller via USB the the headset shows up in sound settings and is chosen so I hear sound, but when i plug in the wireless adapter - the headset option disappears from sound settings therefore is not an option and sound only comes out of the monitor, not the headset.

    Anyway, once I re-input the controller via USB (having previously had it on wireless)- the controller will not turn on. I Have to delete the XINPUT entries in device manager and reboot first to make Windows re-install and re-recognize the controller and turn it on.

    Not sure how to fix this; clearly the update XINPUT drivers are not working properly. There is nothing faulty with my controller or headset btw.

    Using Separate Mic's and Headphones

    When you plug in via the controller, I believe it redirects the chat audio out via that method which is probably why you are not getting chat sounds, but you mic will probably be working.

    Can you plug the headset in via the controller as well?

    I'd check that it isn't a hardware issue with the headset first. Do you have a computer to plug the headset into and see if it also sounds weird? You can monitor your own input in the Sound options via Control Panel if you click on Properties of the
    headset under the "Recording" tab, then click the "Listen" tab in the properties window and check "Listen to this device". See if it sounds weird on PC? That can help identify if it's the Xbox or controller.
