no sound on some games not all games. dolby atmos with sj9 sound bar.

I have had a on going issue that is not getting any better.

I have xbox one x conected to lg oled 55e6v using lgs dolby atmos sound bar sj9.

most games work fine but i have a few games were i have no sound and there are. crackdon 3, star wars battlefront 2, apex ledgends, anthem.

as my tv does not have dolby atmos throughput its conected using hdmi in and out sound bar source is hdmi in. for these games to have sound i have to change to optical so optical cable connected and using source on sound bar to optical works but in this
settings dolby atmos does not work so have to keep changing. before i play games in dolby atmos mode have sound as going through xbox menues but as soon as games loaded no sound. I use to cycle through sounbars source till it worked but now does not work.
all hdmi cables changed still same. I have reset sound bar but still same.

Any help greatelly appreciated.

I had the same problem and called Microsoft and they said only games that support Dolby atmos will work. I tested out the theory and every game that supports Dolby atmos works and very game that doesn't support it wont work. Im not sure why it worked before
and not now. Maybe an update changed that.

If some games work fine and others don't it is probably related to the specific games. You should try contacting the developers of those games for some information.

I have the same problem, but my Xbox One X pushes Dolby Atmos to non Dolby Atmos movies. Also my Xbox pushes out HDR to non HDR movies. It's very frustrating that the sound cuts in n out even when I play Shadow of The Tomb Raider that's Dolby Atmos. Even
Avengers Infinity War sound cuts in n out. Since I have a Geek Squad warranty, I took my LG SJ9 to Best Buy. They tested all Dolby Atmos scenarios and never once did they have a problem with the soundbar in Dolby Atmos mode cutting in n out. There's something
wrong with the Dolby Atmos signal the Xbox One X uses that the SJ9 has problems decoding.

If you have a sound bar that supports Dolby Atmos, then it wont cost you anything to use it, only the headset portion of Dolby Atmos is $14.99. I use Dolby Atmos and it does sound great, but only for games that support it, otherwise it just sounds normal
for the games that don't.

I'm having the same problem as well. I have a LG E7 and it has the built in Dolby Atmos sound bar. I can't even get 4k uhd disc to play due to Dolby Atmos. If I turn Dolby Atmos off in the movie's menu, the movie will play. If I
turn it back on the movie will freeze and sound will continue to play. It will not play both at the same time. Also I can't get it to work at all on video games. When I go to the Xbox sound and connecttions menu and turn on Dolby Atmos all sound stops. I have
no receiver or anything to test it on that away. I was happy with the e7 sound bar Atmos performance. I talked with a rep from Microsoft and he said it sounds like it's the blu ray app having a problem and probably needs an update. I'm not sure.
