    No sound after update


    I haven't used my xbox one x in a week and just turned it on to receive a large update. Now, I don't get any sound. None from my connected headset and none from my soundbar connected via HTMI.

    No Sound After Update?

    I went through a lot of possible solutions with a very nice, able and willing community ambassador but none of the solutions worked. I found the solution afterwards when I discovered that my PS3 and Xbox360 were also silent, I had only checked my SCART connected
    satellite receiver before and not any other HDMI devices; only HDMI devices were silent. Something in the update must have messed up my tv; I unplugged the tv, waited a bit, plugged it back in and the sound worked.

    No Sound After Update?

    Okay, so after not receiving the update right away, I decided to turn my xbox off. A few minutes later it got the update, so I hopped right back on xbox. But, I have no sound now. None of my audio settings were changed, I even went through all of xbox's
    troubleshooting to make sure. And I did the 5 second power off thing too, didn't work. And no, my tv is not muted. I never even touched my tv when I turned my xbox off, so it has nothing to do with the tv considering it worked perfectly fine before. Any help
    besides the troubleshooting already listed, or anyone else experiencing this? I played a game with no sound, then went on to metflix and remembered I have no sound.. so yeah, this kinda aucks...

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    For Xbox Insiders, you can report this problem in that way the Xbox Insider Team will be able to check it as well as deploy a fix for you. To do so, kindly follow the steps below:

    1. Press and hold the Xbox button.

    2. On the What do you want to do? screen, choose Report a problem. This will open the Report a Problem app.

    3. Select Report new problem.

    4. On the New problem report screen, give your problem a descriptive title.

    Also, you can try and check if your setting is correct. Here you go:

    1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

    2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options.

    3. Select Video fidelity & overscan.

    4. Under Display, select HDMI.

    After resetting the Xbox and messing with the settings of both the receiver and Xbox, I finally got it working.

    If that doesn't work try going to settings/ system/ console settings/ display and disable display discovery.
