    No sound after boot screen after the new update?!


    So I was playing on my Xbox last night. it updated over night and now it has no sound what so ever. I did a restart, checked all my cords, and looked into other sound sources and it's not working. The only time I get sound is when I hard reset. the Xbox one X chip loading screen makes sound. That's it tho.

    Anyone else have this issue? Or a fix?

    After the update did the boot sound on the logo splash screen still come up and after that the rest of the sound go dead?

    That is what I experienced after the update but I was using digital optical audio instead of hdmi.

    The screen comes from two things a power cycle, or the system is updating and will boot to that screen. In the ways you are explaining it sounds like it is updating, but not the way it normally does. Do you have any issues after it is done cycling through?
    Also what power mode do you have selected?

    XBOX UPDATE STUCK ON "Preparing console" HELP

    Had problem today and used the method GotenSD described. Turn off unplug all cables for 15 mins. Then boot back up holding the pair and eject buttons. After a few minutes of green screen it booted to new front end with update installed all working fine.
