No save games or hacked?

Im playing The Outer Worlds using the Xbox beta monthly pass thing.

The game was running perfectly fine for 2 days straight, i exited out of both the Windows pop up (asking to use our information) and i also exited the Xbox login pop up ( which informed me i could not use cloud saves) for 2 days this went fine. this morning
i turned on the game, and an unknown gamertag was in the bottom left corner "UnbrandedBody44". according to microsoft, this is mine. but i *NEVER* chose this. i have no memory of ever making this gamertag and its certainly not one i would have chosen.

in addition to this, the "Load Game" option is greyed out. I cannot load my saved games at all. the only option i have is to start a new character.

My friend is freaking out, saying we must have gotten hacked. i dont know whats going on, and now im afraid i have to close my bank account.

I noticed the game had been granted permission at 7:10am and after discovering that, I removed the permission hoping it would solve the problem. it hasn't, however, i'm now being informed that many others are experiencing this issue with a variety of games.
So it is sounding like an Xbox Beta pass issue

i just checked my Mail, and it says at 7:10am this morning i connected Outer worlds to my Microsoft account, i have no idea why linking the game to my account would delete all my save files for the game however. i also have no memory of linking the account
to the game, but it is linked to my email.

That's very possible that it's a strange Xbox Beta issue. A lot of people that are in other programs, like the Insiders Program, often experience issues and bugs. I left the Insider program a couple of years ago due to this.

You can manage connected Apps and Services
Here. Connecting accounts to games allows for cloud save features and other profile features. Did you start playing at that time? Some games will connect to your account automatically.

You will want to sign into your Microsoft account and change your password and secrutity details as soon as possible. Also, after doing this go back into your Microsoft account and look under My Devices and make sure that all devices listed are yours.
If you find unfamiliar devices listed, remove them from your account. You can check your purchase history on your Microsoft account page as well if you are concerned there maybe unauthorized purchases made. If you can't get into your Microsoft account then
you will want to follow these instructions to recover your account and get it secured.
