no rewards for game purchases

i was in my xbox rewards account and seems none of my purchases have ever got any points. there has been nothing at all since i joined the reward scheme. i have been getting regular emails telling me i have earned nothing whatsoever. i cant remember ever
having any points show up in rewards. Which made me think whats the point of a reward scheme when you spend a small fortune on xbox consoles, accessories and games and stay loyal to your products (not to mention the fact games now with all the rip off dlc
season passes cost near enough 3x what they used too !!!!) and then to find out all my purchases are valid or is it just a massive joke to make us jump through hoops for literally nothing

No Rewards for purchases

Keep in mind that VIP rebates are calculated after the end of the month and given by the 15th of the next month. So credits for April purchases still have some time to show.

Since we award MyVIP payback on every eligible $10 in spending, and your spending that month did not complete a $10 amount from a previous month or from that month (February), you did not receive payback that month. Regarding April, from our FAQ:

When will my MyVIP Rewards Credits be deposited into my Microsoft account?

The total Rewards earned will be calculated at the end of each month. Typically you'll receive your MyVIP earnings in your account by the 15th of the following month, though this is subject to the program's current deposit
terms. Be sure to keep an eye on MyStatement on the
MyRewards page to track your progress and watch your Rewards Credits total grow!

We have not yet calculated last month's MyVIP, so it is too early to see the Credits pending.

Hello Dmephesto,

You can earn Xbox Live Rewards Credit in two ways:

1. By finishing the offers located on the MyMissions page at
https://rewards.xbox.com/mymissions/ .

-or-

2. For non-offer purchases, you can earn Credits by earning a one star MyVIP level through purchasing at least $300 USD or regional equivalent of eligible content. After you receive your first star you will begin to earn a percentage of your eligible purchases
back as MyVIP payback Rewards Credit. Pre-orders, in-game consumables, and subscriptions are not eligible for MyVIP.

In September 2014 we changed to the MyVIP policy. As a result, payback based off Gamerscore (MyAchievements) was discontinued. Also, as mentioned in our pinned announcement at the top of the forums titled "HEY
YOU! We've got your answer here." (https://forums.xbox.com/en-US/thread/2f5ffacb-bf1e-4fca-8764-f57f69556e55), we no longer award Credits for Xbox Live Gold renewals
as of July 2014.

MyVIP had a recalibration for the last few years. At the end of the year, we place you in your MyVIP rank for the new year based off your eligible spending from the previous year, and set your progress to the default state. This happened in September 2015
and December 2016. We did not recalibrate this year (December 2017). Since you are a zero star member, you do not get payback Credits on your purchases. You can check your current MyVIP level/progress at (Xbox Live Rewards).

That's correct, you do not receive reward points for purchasing game add-ons. You will only receive reward points for purchasing full games.

In the case of Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, the game was released on March 25, 2023. If you purchased the game before March 25, you may have received reward points. However, if you purchased the game after March 25, you will not receive reward points.

In the case of Destiny 2 Lightfall, the game will be released on August 24, 2023. If you purchase the game before August 24, you may receive reward points. However, if you purchase the game after August 24, you will not receive reward points.

If you want to make sure you receive reward points for purchasing a game, you can check the Xbox rewards page before making your purchase. The rewards page will display all games that award reward points.

Here are some tips to get reward points for purchasing games:

Buy new and popular games. New, popular games typically award more reward points than older or less popular games.

Buy games on the Xbox Store. Games purchased from the Xbox Store earn more reward points than games purchased from other stores.

Buy games with an Xbox Game Pass subscription. Games purchased with an Xbox Game Pass subscription also earn reward points.

Hey dude,

Unfortunately you need to purchase the games through the xbox store, so if you purchases through Gamestop, then it won't count

Take from the Rewards page:

When you purchase or pre-order any of these landmark games from the Xbox Store, you'll earn up to 6,000 Rewards Credits per title, totalling up to 25,000 Rewards Credits. If you purchased or pre-ordered a game before 27 October 2015, you won't be rewarded
for that individual purchase, but you WILL be one step closer to collecting all five games for a bonus of 35,000 Rewards Credits — meaning that all together, up to 60,000 Rewards Credits can be yours!*

Only digital purchases from the Xbox store are eligible for MyVIP. Console purchases do not increase progress or award MyVIP payback. Furthermore, game consumables and pre-orders are not eligible for Rewards. Also, we only Reward purchases made in the regional
currency of your Xbox Live Rewards region. Since you registered as a Great Britain region Rewards Member, we are only Rewarding purchases made in GBP.

For help with the rewards program, it's best to post in the Xbox Rewards Questions support forum. In order to qualify the games have to be purchased digitally during the offer period. Any games purchased as a physical disc or purchased before November 1,
are not eligible.
