  1. No more 5.1, 7,1 or Dolby Atmos on a Samsung TV with Samsung Soundbar on Xbox Series X

Since some Xbox Update even the audio test says that I don't have a 5.1. or 7.1 or Atmos system. In audio I see only Stereo and Dolby Digital.

I tested how I had it (without Atmos) directly to the TV (since the TV doesn't have an e-ARC port even if is 8K (but has 4k at 120Hz)) and the same think.

If I put it in the Soundbar, where I lose the 120Hz but it should add the Atmos, it is the same thing. TV Samsung QLED 65 8K - QN65Q900RBF and soundbar Samsung Q90R

    What Happened ?

    :)

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello CristianGergely, you belong to some Insider ring, if you don't belong have already tried some procedure on Xbox after the upgrade.

No more 5.1, 7,1 or Dolby Atmos on a Samsung TV with Samsung Soundbar on Xbox Series X

I have a Samsung Q900R, 4K 120hz works directly into the TV but no Atmos or Dolby Digital 5.1 or 7.1 options. TV to the amp gives me Dolby Digital Plus and Atmos, confirm with Vudu playing to the AMP from the TV. All works great. The Xbox does NOT recognize Atmos when connected to the TV. Xbox does recognize plugged into the Marantz SR7011 AMP but since the amp doesn't support the higher hz (probably no HDMI 2.1) I can't plug into my AMP directly.

The Xbox needs to push the Atmos signal to the TV but says it doesn't support it. The TV doesn't see the correct signal so I can't turn it on. Pass-through doesn't seem to solve this problem either.

Basically, I can confirm I am having the same problem here. Also, where is 8k? Been long enough, turn it on so we can watch it in YouTube at least.

ATMOS on most recent Xbox One X

I see the Dolby app for installing ATMOS for headphones or speaker use on systems from 2 years ago and have also seen some comment that it just started working. Here is question: Bought Xbox One X last week (Feb 29, 2020) and have a Samsung 4k television
as well as their best Samsung Sound Bar with built in ATMOS. Do I still have to download the DOLBY app and install per some online instructions from past or is it all compatible now without any modifications?

I saw a lot of problems with the Dolby app in comments...so dont want to mess anything up. I downloaded INSECTS and the spatial sound selection was not available....so assuming that means I need the Dolby app installed.

    Thoughts?
You absolutely MUST install Dolby Atmos App, you must also connect the Xbox One X directly to the SoundBar Atmos enabled and the soundbar to the TV, because Samsung TV don't have Dolby Atmos Passtrough.

ATMOS on most recent Xbox One X

App is not recognizing my HDMI input from Samsung One Connect to the XBox One X and Samsung Q80R Soundbar. Called Samsung support...walked me through settings for television to ensure One Connect set properly and the Dolby App will not let me select ATMOS...just
    DTS and Dolby.

Soundbar also would not update firmware when I inserted USB drive....so Samsung is asking me to send soundbar to them for repair/replacement. What a pain...

All I get is TV ARC on display....even if playing the ATMOS media from Dolby App on Xbox or YouTube Demo media.

I swapped out the HDMI between One Connect and XBOX with no change even rebooting system. Did rest on soundbar. Used regular, ethernet enabled and High Speed HDMI....got a couple 4k cables as well to try as last resort before I ship to Samsung for service.

    So the journey begins.
