Discus and support No modern theme when using Chinese OS in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I use a Simplified-Chinese win10 and I can only use that green theme with bugs.     No modern theme when using Chinese OS


    I use a Simplified-Chinese win10 and I can only use that green theme with bugs. I have to install a English language pack if I want to use modern theme. This issue has been existing since the app released.

    No modern theme in Chinese version

    No modern theme in Chinese version.Just a garden theme with bugs.There are many people complain about it,why don't you solve it?

    Why I just have garden theme TAT?

    Many chinese users can not see the modern theme.

    I find the solution myself:

    Because I use Chinese as my phone language, due to a localization problem, there is no theme selection available in Chinese version; however, this achievement requires you to correctly flag 500 mines using modern theme, and garden theme doesn't count! So
    I switched to English, reboot my phone, and played Microsoft Minesweeper using modern theme. In this condition, the counter works correctly and I already unlocked this achievement.

    BTW, would you please still submit the feedback that theme switching is not working if system language is Chinese? This problem persists since the very first day of Microsoft Minesweeper's release on Windows 8 in 2012. Thank you very much!

    Win 8.1 upgrade breaks Minesweeper when system locale is Chinese

    People reported this problem to Microsoft Chinese support forum and Microsoft employees replied that the problem is under investigation. We can do nothing but wait for a future fix... Also, according to the posts in this forum, seems that people using languages
    other than English and Chinese also have this problem.

    Another problem that annoys me is that if the system language is set to Chinese, theme switching no longer works and you can only use garden theme. This problem persists since the very first day and still no fix. It is interesting that Microsoft used modern
    theme screenshots in Chinese version marketplace, but user have no access to this theme. I guess the problem is caused by the localization work, since theme change is working in Microsoft Solitaire Collection and Microsoft Mahjong...

    Why I just have garden theme TAT?

    At the Home screen, under the "Themes" section, select the Modern theme. It is selected by default, and is the top option if you have changed it. There are only two themes currently.
