    System: XBox Series X Headset: Astro A50

    Not getting any microphone audio being registered as functioning on my XBox. I choose to mute myself in a party and it says to press 'Y' to unmute, but it won't unmute in the sense that the option isn't working (profile pic doesn't dim when muted). When I highlight someone else's name and then highlight my own after I've muted myself, the option to mute myself is available again.

    I've checked my headset with my A50 hub and the microphone is reciving AND broadcasting, just not transmitting to voice chat/game chat with whatever the lateat update did.

    However, the YouTube voice search is indeed working and I'm able to use my mic to transmit my voice searches, so the mic works with the xbox.

    UPDATE: Restarting console via the guide and hard restarting do nothing. Even unplugged the xbox for 1 minute and still no change.

    Audio Problem

    What kind of headset are you using? If it is an Astro A50 headset then you will need to use the Astro app to adjust your mic and eq settings as the Guide audio options are all greyed out when this headset is in use.
