No Games will download or launch (xbox store pc)

Hello y’all i really need someone’s help unfortunately no one i have reached has been of any assistance to me. So to start i have been having problems and many errors with trying to download a specific game (ark survival evolved) I do have game pass and that is an included game (i also have it purchased) but everytime i try and download the standalone (no dlc) i get an error that translates to me not having an active subscription to game pass. which is wrong because i can download any other game pass game just fine. I have reset my hard drive and i have deleted the microsoft store and xbox app and redownloaded it countless times. i even when into power shell and typed in stuff to make it be totally wiped from my pc but to no avail the problem still persists.

My second problem is that even while this is still going on i am not even able to launch any other game from game pass. it’s making it very difficult to want to pay microsoft any more of my money if it’s just going to waste. i’ve contacted support at least 3 times now and none of them have had a clue how to help me. the first time i spent 2 hours on the phone and just got so frustrated i wiped my hard drive but still the problem persisted.

Thank you for sharing your concern here in Xbox Community Forum and we hope that all is well.

It appears that the issue you are experiencing with Xbox app is getting more complicated after you have wiped out your hard drive. Let us check on this together and sort this out. Rest assured that we will do our full capability to help resolve your concern in a timely manner.

It is possible that some of the application in your device are corrupted or needs an update. The reason also for the second issue which is unable to launch any game it is because when you wiped out your hard drive, everything on it was erased and you may need to download and install again all your games.

We would like to ask few questions to help us isolate the issue further.

1. What is the version of Windows you are using? To check, press Windows key + R and type winver in the run dialog box and hit OK. You may send us screenshot.

2. Are you getting specific error message or error code when launching Xbox app in your device?

3. When you wiped out your hard drive, does it mean you perform clean install your Windows?

For the meantime, here are the troubleshooting steps that are worth trying for:

1. Make sure Windows is up to date

Press the Start button on the taskbar, type settings, and then select Settings.
On Windows 10, select Update & Security. On Windows 11, select Windows Update.
On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates to see if any updates are available including optional updates for your device.
Once the updates have downloaded, select Install now to start the installation.
Following installation, we recommend that you restart your device so that the latest updates can take effect.

2. Make sure both the Xbox and Gaming Services apps are up to date

Press the Start button on the taskbar, type store, and open the Microsoft Store app.
Select Library.
Under Updates & downloads, check if there are any updates available for the Xbox app or Gaming Services app. If an update is available, select Update.

3. Make sure you are signed in to the Xbox app and the Store with the same account.

> To make sure your permissions for the game can be validated, be sure to sign in to both the Store and the Xbox app using the same account that was used to purchase the game.

4. Uninstall and reinstall Gaming Services

Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.
In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:
get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:
start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
Restart your device and try launching the Xbox app again.

yeah they can be used on pc, but you have to first launch the game on xbox to sync them to the epic account, if you don't have xbox you have to purchase in game or via epic store.

rule of thumb is, if the game is available to buy, download and play via windows store FOR pc then in game currency purchases will be ok.

I don't think you actually need the Xbox beta app to launch any game? The app is useful for checking the Xbox Game Pass for PC catalog, but you can also download any games via the Microsoft Store without the Xbox beta app. And the app doesn't need to run
in the background when you're playing Microsoft Store games on your PC

Sorry to hear it. Please first check your settings to make sure there are no pending updates for the PC. If there is one then update it and then check to see if the game launches. If you still have trouble with it then delete the game and open the Xbox
Store App and check your downloads to download it from there.
